Haven't used this tyre, but am currently using the Ventus V8 RS - a more street tyre, less noisy then the high end performance ones like the R-S2. All i can say is when i switched to these Hankook tyres (from BS GIII, Eagle F1s) with the silica technology, i felt these were amazing... great grip, and vastly improved handling. i found my turn ins were sharper and had less oversteer.
I'd highly recommend these silica Hankook tyres...
there r quite grip if compare with normal performance street tyres.
but it also wear easily due to the compound.
A good street-use tyre.

It has a similar tread design to the Neova but, not tyre compound,
nor tyre construction.

It's definitely not a semi-slick tyre.
It's probably a notch below the AD07 neova in terms of performance.

Agreed. Especially for the price.
Kumho MX and Falken Azenis 615s would be similar-ish.
One time I tried to find a set of these and had no luck.
I'm not sure availability is the best.

IMHO, Goodyear G3's were a great wet tyre, ok dry tire.
I don't know why they get such a good wrap.

nd55: hmm, I was told these were Semi-slicks. Its half the price of the Neovas as well.
EK9: I'm using RE001 for my ctr and its definitely something I'd buy again. Wet grip is amazing as dry for the street ofcourse... I've tried Eagle F1 and thought wet was good too, quite a predictable tyre.
I'm choosing between RE001 and RS2 for my ITRs... but I think I'll lean towards the RE001 for comfort and street use.
Is there another alternative to RE001?

Before you get hyped up about a particular brand/model remember, the size you want is never made in the tyre you like.

I run the new Ventus V12's and they are AWESOME.
Took em for a trip around Wakefield on a slippery wet day (in my 200 sx) and LOVE THEM!
On the street are awesome as well, great grip wet and dry!
Sorry slightly OT but i had to give a mention. Also not cheap either.. Looking at $380 per tyre!!
To clarify this is not a semi slick tyre. It is, however, an excellent tyre at an excellent price. Currently I'd have to say it is definitely THE BEST VALUE high performance road tyre. Great performance, great price, good wear characteristics.Quote:

What is High Grip Silica Compound(HGSC)? Apparently used first on the R-S2.
STiR: So if this isn't a semi slick, then how is the road noise rated compared to BS RE001?
Oh I rang up 1 random place and it was about 180-200 fitted for 16" and 17".
