We have no choice but to get those clips on the sides? because we dont have gutters?
Is that the original honda roof racks?

yup. There are no OEM mounting points on the euro. So those metal clamps are the only way unless you want to weld on the roof (don't do that). haha
But the clips themselves comes with rubber strips which protect from scratches. I have removed them once to inspect for scratches and to my surprise, not a single dot was made by them.
-
u know what? somehow even with the roof racks,, still looks effin hot, didnt really notice it in the edited photos. :D

I hate my black car. IMO white cars are the best. Not as much maintenance. With black cars you got to keep polishing it to keep the swirl marks out of it. I prefer a white car.
-
nice rim choice!!! i like!!!
-
love you rims and i don't mind the roof rack, looks 'action-packed', kind of flow with the shape of the car.
white Cu2 - Da Best !!
hey, can you tell me, did you have to roll your guards at all to leave room for those 19' rims?
cos i noted that you have an offset of 40/41 and 245 tyres, they must be sitting just flush.
-
hey there nice car :) just curious did u lowered the car at all?
-
very nice rims ! and x 2 to above...it looks lowered...if not thats damn good to be that little gap at stock height.
-
hey mate car looks fresh! good work

yup. Guards required rolliing. But thats because i insisted on retaining the actual overall diameter. Can get away with 235 tyres but because oem tyres are 98Y rated, its really really rare for a 235 tyre to be rated anywhere close to 98 load rating :(

Yeah. Car was lowered with Eibach Pro-Kit. Not 100% sure about the drop height but its just nice. No gaps between tyres and wheel arch. Car sits exactly 10mm from ground at the front tyre wind deflector.

I use to have a black FD civic! what a pain in the ass!!
I swore to never get black again,
so i got my white CU2 :)
These clip on racks easy to put on and remove?
dont need to do any other mods?
I want racks!!!
Thinking of which brand now:) i saw the thule ones with that front wind deflectors. looks pretty hot.
-
Nice choice of wheels and loving the USDM look. What happen to your old wheels?
-
drop it a bit more, and keep the roof racks...are they directly above the sunroof?

nah they are not hard to remove. I tried removing the roofrack once after installing at the shop just to see how hard it is. Took less than 10minutes to remove all the mounting. 1 thing though, lifting it off the roof requires some kungfu skills if you are doing it yourself. lol
Are you talking about the fairings at the front for Thule ones? they are HAWT MAN!
For your reference, my roof acc. consists of:
ProRack WhispBar crossbars
and
2X Thule 591 ProRide

Thanks nxn....USDM is kind of the path im leaning towards. Might end up to be a mix of everything ! LOL...
Stock wheels are resting at home and will be used the moment i can't afford new tyres for the wheels now haha

I really want to drop it more but it will only mean less comfortable ride. might use other means of making the car look lower(e.g bodykit :P)
yes, the front cross bar sits right across the sunroof. only downside of having the racks :(

They are iForged wheels
I love them too but the offset was not too suitable for CU2. Of course if i wanted i could have made it fit but to do that, i'd need to have more than 3degrees camber, or flare those guards ALOT. Which i wasnt game enough to do! lol
thats why i did not lower the car that time :(
-
Wow aggressive offset i should say.. the wheels stick out so much... Flush look! hahhaa... I was looking for rims at that time and came across your wheels for sale by the other seller. But then was too late and then saw it on your car in another forum.. hahaha..
BTW 2 thumbs up for your modifications!
-
so yungquan, where abouts in victoria are you from! :D

Front has no camber at all i think.
Rear has about 2.5 degrees of natural camber after i got the car lowered. :D

Yup you can get camber kits for front and rear to correct the natural camber you get after getting the car lowered. But im more inclined to not get them. 2.5 degrees is fine'ish in terms of camber wear. plus, i like the way it looks HAHA
for the 20s you are getting, it really depends on the width you are after.
Front: 20x9.5 et +35 shd be right at the edge of the guard = FLUSH and you will need really narrow tyres + rolled guards
Rear: 20x8.0 et +35 is flush with the front guards <---- this is proven

Best white one I've seen. I actually like the roof rack look, something different.

Looking Good Yung
I particularly like the tweeter surrounds. I just fitted my Focal's into the factory fittings without mods.
One thing you might need to do is lightly trim down the double ring of plastic that runs around the outer edge of the speaker grille on the inside of the front door trim.
I had to trim mine right down until the two raised edges were completely level with the background. You should end up with a completely flat ring around the grille. The reason is that on full extension my Focal 165VR's butyl suspension could touch the door trim and made a really nasty noise. They did not need much extra clearance, just a couple of millimeters. It's hard to see until you fit the speakers and power them up, and it also depends on just how much extension you get from your drivers.
Something like this:

Look forward to more updates.

Hi Yungquan,
how much you paid for them? where you get them from? I used to be a SQL enthusiast back in my country , however after migrated here i'm absolutely isolated from them , since high ended SQL equip are very hard to find and cost a fortune! :thumbdwn:

Info on amps PM'ed. :)

Hi Yungquan,
I've recently DIY to revamp the stock audio system, current configuration is:
Stock -> AMP -> speaker-out-> Audiocontrol EQS-> TruBillet -> Morel Elates 6
the frustrating thing is , i'm hearing moderate level of hissing from the tweeter , it is quite apparent when playing piano music(when a key strikes the sound got distrorted) , i'm suspecting the speaker level out is introducing such noise...
I did try to tap on to the pre-amp out but the problem is i'm unable to control the volume from the Head Unit .
I'm interested to know did you experience such problem? did you tap in to the preamp out for your audison bitone?
Cheers

i Tapped mine pre-amp and am having the same exact problem as you man. I thought tapping it post-amp will solve the problem but it seems from your post, it doesnt solve it..hmm...
i will retap it post-amp and see if it works. I HATE THIS!!! :(

Hi Yungquan,
Sad to hear that the pre-amp output does it as well.. now i'm starting to think it is my amp. I will try connecting my Ipod straight to the AMP and see if i'm still hearing the hiss/clipping. I suspect the AMP is not grounded properly hence the introducing such noise to the tweeter ..
Will keep you updated

I connected my Ipod into the auxilary of BitOne and it works perfectly fine. So my guess is the problem coming from our actual HU. If all else fails, ill put in an aftermarket HU :(

I have rhino racks I use them for my snowboards so convenient they come off in summer though the wind annoys me and there the quiet ones super easy to put on and off
-
hi yungkuan,
I've tried using my ipod , however the noise is still audible ! i start to suspect it is my amp or tweeter . Where did you ground your amp? did you scrape the metal to ground your amp?
Cheers

Yup! i only put them on when i need it...freaking noise from the Thule Bike Carrier...
I've got ProRack Whispbar which are suppose to be quiet...BUT with the Thule attachment, it kills the whole point of having the Whispbar ...arghhh

hmm...weird innit? i grounded the amp just below the rear seat in one of the seat belt mounting points. and yes, they were sanded back to the metal :) try that, might work maybe

Hi Yungquan,
Will try that tonight , another thing is , did you manage to integrate your system with the honda bluetooth? i think there is a switch when the bluetooth is active , but i think it is wired to the stock wiring which feeds the stock speaker , not sure where is that switch located .. do you have a clue?
Cheers

i dont have the stock honda bluetooth system unfortunately. Ive bought an aftermarket one but haven't had time to connect it yet. Try getting a wiring instruction or for your system. Might help

Only thing I can say is you need bigger wheels but still looks sick
-
to be honest , the first photo(rear wheel) looks like the wheel is too small with thin tyre , maybe because of the bulky body, need to upgrade to a bigger wheel ! lol
-
Does any1 have a CU2 + White + Modulo kit + Red badge + Original 18"s
Would love to see one

I don't have the full kit. Only the rear and sides (sides aren't on yet). Also, car will be lowered this Sunday hopefully.
AND DAMN YOU YUNG! Such a dope drop...... Dare you to keep it late low.. Be Reece and Jason LOL.
Edit: Here's the image. iPhone pic. Did you want another angle? But if you want another angle.. (eg, the front), I don't have the Modulo front, I have the "Type S" lip.
http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/2244/img1122sl.jpg
Edit 2: Yung's running 19" wheels.. I think it's just cause the tyres are more thin now that they look small. Did you get any other pics of the car Yung? Pics of the whole car?
-
Thanks euro_noob. Very nice.
Yes I wouldn't mind another shot from the front

They dont look small to me? Looks perfect. What coilovers did you go with mate?
