D16Y1 FTW yO!
B16B ftw
B16b :d
B16b or the mitsi mivec jap sec 1.6l (not sure of engine code but it's the engines they run in the mirage cup).
b16b.Quote:

Owning both a B16A and a B/T 20V, the B/T 20V is a very interesting engine to me. The spread of torque honestly feels alot better than the B16A..... and this is only with adjustment in inlet cam timming. Granted if you are planning to mod it extensively internally.... you are probably best to get a 16V and go to town on it. Aftermarket support for the 20V has never been there compared to the 16V 4A-G, and to an even greater extent the B16A.
I have always wondered though how the 20V would have felt if it had lift from VVTL-i. Still.... Yamaha did a very good job of it, F1 5 valve technology gimmics aside. ;)
In saying that I am a big fan of the B16B... and something which may freak alot of you out.... power output is not the reason why I like it. The R:S ratio of the B16B is of great significance to an engine that is to be operating in sustained high RPM operation.
B16A2T lol
K16B turbo yo! haha
4agze 1.6l supercharged from mr2
The best 1.6L is the one you have in your car at the moment because it is keeping your car moving.
the best 1.6l engine is the one that has 100K worth of mod done internally including 2000hrs of man power labour put into it ;)
B16A the BEST !!!!!
or maybe a TRD AE101 High Rev Engine
be hitting 11,000 rpm in no time...
but go B16A
Aiya Initial D haha... Jks Bro :pQuote:

Considering these are easy to get engines. The 20v just don't seem to be quick enough. I've raced too many people with bad results. The 4gze is alright but its a crap driving feeling after 5k rpm. The car looses all its handling fun due to this.
Best engine, i'd like to compare the Spoon b16b & the F1 Atlantic 20V. I think it would be a very close battle. Being a honda person now i'm kinda biased so i would prob say spoon b16b, but i know the F1 Atlantic engine is also a great engine
The everyday driver b16a or b16b if you can afford/find one.

that engine ^^^ minus -.2L
edit - lol wait limbo alrady said the spoon b16b (now there is a pic)
oooooooo baby... nice engine !!!
LOL at all of the 11000rpm 4A-GE 20V fanatics....
Formula Atlantic 4A-GEs run the 16v block and head. Not the 20v. Don't watch initial D while posting on Ozhonda. haha. :)
bah id still take the spoon crate motor :)
VW 1600cc water cooled flat 4

I think those are the ones your talking about Arrong. They were the 1988 spec F1 Atlantic engine. They later used the 20v.
http://www.toysport.com/Technical%20...tech_notes.htm
Formula Atlantic still uses 16v. I have the 2002 SAE paper on the development of the new Swift 014.a chassis and it still uses the 16v. Unfortunately for 2006, the 4A-GE is no longer used in Formula Atlantic after Toyota ended sponsorship. They now run a Cosworth 2.3L inline4 300hp engine.Quote:

It is Formula Toyota that uses 20v. The link you provided states that:

While not being 1.6L, the 1.5L from the RA271 and RA272 was a V12 that made 220hp @ 11000rpm.
haha cant imagine an F1 engine in a Civic lol
you would need to seriously detune it so it doesnt rip apart the chassis lol
It's not too bad. at 11000rpm, the engine is making 155 Nm to produce the 240hp. That's about the same as the b16b.Quote:

but actually i think the 4AGZE (AE101 Levin GT-Z supercharged, my ex-dream car when was young) n 4AGE black top (AE111 Levin BZ-V/G/R) are also not bad.
the mit 1.6 mivec (JDM Lancer/Mirage) is not a good potential engine, cos the rev output is not really high as b16a or 4age i think
for the torque power, i will choose 4AGZE
for the potential n high rev power, i will choose 4AGE black top with 4 quad throttle bodies (but actually B16B is also potential to mod, but i do like 4AGE)
for the overall purpose, i will choose B16B definitely
well, both B16B n 4AGE are very gd 1.6 engine in my opinion, but the b16B eng/half cut is not cheap in oz, n very rare to get one.....but however, the half cut 6 speed 4AGE is just less than $3000or $3500 (be4 i saw $5500 for da EK9 half cut)....so........
DBHK1.6aTT + S + N ( DBHK 1.6 twin turbo / supercharger with nos.).. yO.. ehehe
but wouldnt putting a toyota 4AGZE engine in a Honda be a biatch (and more expensive)? Best to stick with a honda I think.. B16B ftw

If you are talking about passenger vehicle engines from the factory without aftermarket modding, then in my opinion the 1.6L award goes to Nissan's SR16VE from the VZR N1. Can't beat 197hp from 1.6L.
R16A gd fuel consumption
b16b FTW!!!
B16B would be better...
id like that engine... atm B16A does the job...
according to autosalon magazine.
in the top 10 engines.
b16a was 4th.
i dont see any b16b in there...
beucase asm don't know a b16b exists.
lol.
what came first? rb26dett? then the 2jz?
rb26dett. im planning on doing a write up on it. should i?Quote:

Yes, they came in the AUDM Corolla SX (the one with the huge twincam 16 sticker on the side). I prefer the 20v though.Quote:

Guys, (j3z3z and daniel b16a), theres no need to get that emotional and worked up over a discussion!!
Calm down please!
thought they were 1.8l... lol the 1.8l is a nugget enough.
However, not sure if its been posted, the highest HP producing engine from factory is the Nissan SR16VE N1 @ 197hp also exceeding the F20Cs HP/L record.
That excludes any third party aftermarket modifiers such as Autech, Spoon, Mugen, etc...
