congrates......................
So you made 5kw extra in power and 20nM of torque between the blue run and the red run… ? or is that just dyno variance as some dyno operators would claim that’s the difference between being tuned and not tuned….
1st run, maybe it didn't reach peak operation temps. yet???
i dunno
I had 2 back to back runs, they were 2 mins apart.....
Thats alright
So a stock DC2R would be ~100 - 105 ATW?
How much is a dyno tune?
I only saw 1 other dc2r as said in a few posts prior.....
a jdm vtir with a few mods made 103kw and an egg with b18cr made 104kw, i saw this car had headers of some brand....
there is no way in hell will i compare my car's run to another dyno run on another day and another location
at the end of the day, its just numbers and i did it because i need a starting reference point b4 i start chasing kw's
about right...Bone stock dc2r of ours before made 105kw atw @ hi comp dyno. After some mods here and there...made 122kw atw.
14.5 Bone stock dc2r
13.6 I/H/E ECU tune dc2r
The EGG with JDM b18c made 116kw atw,
My car on a different day at the pro-tek dyno made 113kw atw..
on behalf of my mate XXXSHO the s15 front widebody dc2.
he made 225 kw atw with turbo set up with fuel upgrades and injectors exhaust etc.
since then has gone forged pistons, rods and has sleeved it with a few more tasty mods...
looking to crack 350-400 kw atw.
Stock B18C2 with CAI 95.6kw atw
my dc2r boosted b18c7 on 8psi made 181kw on hub dyno @ 7000rpm......its got some mechanical issue with vtec (hence, we only rev to 7000rpm not 8500rpm yet).............but once sorted out, it should make close to 200kw at the wheels on same hub dyno...............the tuner may give it 10psi.............we not sure yet..................btw it is running rich as F&*K for safety untill we sort out the vtec issue....................my rear bar is rediculously black................................
so, this is Hub, not atw?
manufacturer gets its power figures from the flywheel..........(engine dyno).....thatr way they give you the reading of wat power the engine makes with no loss at all through any driveline.............
i only prefer hub dyno, as it has no chance to slip and wheel spin..............and it gives a more accurate reading i beleive....................im not chasing power figures...............i only want it to be tuned perfect, inm not saying that roller dynos are no good.......me and my mates only have our cars dyno tyned for accuracy and a dyno is only a tuning tool, yes it does give you a reading of power.....but hey like people compare.......other dynos show different power and on different days......the weather it all makes a difference...............even on ahub dyno all factors are to be considered........................
its personal choice and like i said, i onmly prefer a hub dyno as it has no chance of slipping/wheelspining
thats my theory........
please guys....dont kill me for my theory and explanation....everyone has there own opinion
so, they take the wheel off and bolt the dyno up to the hubs?
thats right
i'll post some pics
That's exactly right.
Hub-dyno's are a good way of measuring and tuning power (not to say roller dynos are not a good way) but as IEVAQ8 mentioned, it reduces the chance of slippage and is much more accurate.
I've only ever tuned on a hub-dyno and measured power on a roller dyno.
This may sound stupid n is probably wrong but is any power lost in the wheels' inertia? if so wouldnt it be more accurate to have the wheels on the dyno?
120.9KW Atw
Spoon n1 exhaust, Mugen 4-1, Catco catback, Jun fly, Exedy organic clutch, Vafc tuned by dr. drift

hmmmz
i got 122.1kw @ wheels today at SAS (on a DynoDynamic)...
Car is a DC2R (done around 80,000kms - and more track days then i can remember) all it has power wise is I/H/E :S not even a aftermarket ECU...
^
wow thats pretty high for I/H/E! i have the same..but got only 114...unlucky...
My car is pretty much stock, im getting some work done with Toda within the next month, intake, headers, cat, exhaust.
2 dyno runs will be done on the day so ill post the before and after, ill be interested in seeing how much of a gain ill be getting after everything is done
