Another price drop on Carsales. Talked to the dude who claimed that respray was done by previous owner for aesthetics whilst "reconditioning"... Claimed that it has passed numerous RACV vehicle inspections from previous interested parties.
Any Melbourne-based S2k enthusiasts who knows their stuff want to come with me to check it out on Sunday? Can thank with beers/beverage of choice.
i'm sure someone has gone to see that car, its been on the market for a while
I think it would be real difficult to find an early AP1 that hasn't been involved in some sort of accident, small or big. It is scary though, as i totalled my old '00 AP1 into a few tree's, it was writen off by my insurance company because of the enormous damage to the front and rear. Strange how it's currently for sale on CarPoint looking the same it did when i owned it.
LOL, I was looking through the other night, and I swear about 1/2 of them have had resprayed front bars. All the white ones have been resprayed... as well as numerous MCB / NFR's.... its crazy.
well i just asked my mate who owns an s2k in melbourne about this car and its confirmed your suspicions.
he knew the guy that owned it before and it was an indonesian international student who thrashed the crap out of it, apparently had engine problems (something about the head gasket) and was involved in a 3 car pileup which prompted a pretty cheap sale.
kinda makes sense if you ask me.. how can it have "passed" 5 x racv tests (which i assume are not cheap) and nobody has bought it?
Carsales is weird like that though, I've had my S2k on there for 28k with only 67000kms for months, and barely had any interest what so ever, yet when i was looking for a black one, they would all sell within a day-week of advertising.

lol no thanks, not flying down for that..
looks like chopped springs too and i'll bet he "doesnt have the stock springs"
