Cool, i guess you learn something new everyday. thanks.
Been wanting to get a shift light for awhile now. Quick search on the net pointed me to
ECLIPTECH. Their product the SHIFT-I is just what I was looking for. Progressive shift light, battery voltage indicator, affordable and easy to install. I set the 1st light to come on at 6000rpm and the last light to come on at 8500rpm. Now this thing also doubles as a VTEC ON light! :D
Did the install in a under 2.5 hours, with frequent breaks.
Only 3 wires to connect: Ignition/power, Ground, RPM signal.

Can't wait to test it at the track.
that actually looks pretty decent.. maybe molding it above the top of the speedo where the dash comes out? kinda have a f1 kind of feel :P
I actually moved it from the steering column to above the dash.
Much better vision from up there.
yeah that would be tough as, i might also look into getting one of them and follow your little tut up there and install it myself lol.
Is there a way to get a "vtec" light if you would, on an early model s2000? or would it need some serious wiring/ecu work?
looks the goods h17am I used to want one for my old car, had been looking for one like this in awhile. Saw it on a sportivo back in the day but he said he custom made it, and I couldn't be bothered making my own. Super usefull on the track :D
well the shift light now doubles as a vtec light. i set the first light to come on at 6000rpm. so whenever vtec is on, at least 1 of the lights is on. the lights come on progressively from 6000 rpm to 8500 rpm, evenly spaced. after 8500 rpm all 7 LEDs will flash like its on fire.
the great thing is that it has 12 display modes so you can choose how sequence the LEDs light up. And the setpoints are adjustable so you can set it to whatever u want. No engine revving required to set the setpoints too!
oh vyets the vendor (Ecliptech) is in melbourne. hahaha.
when i bought it, i paid $9 for p&h expecting snail mail. surprise surprise it was sent by platinum express post, got it next day! in time for the anzac day long weekend to install it.
how much was it all up?
185 shipped
250 for my labor cost installing it. haha :D
