So what does "Latest Reputation Received " in the user cp mean?
OK so that doesn't mean you get rep points then?
It tells you if you have received ANY rep at al by any other members/mods, be it negative or positive.
Well it shows that i have two, none of which state that they are positive nor negative. Does it mean i can get rep'd +/- for these??
I only bring this up because i just recently found it while surfing through my user options.
Yeps it can either be positive or negative, chances are the user which rep'd you had under 100 points themselves which hasn't effected your PQ, if a user which has more then 100 PQ point rep's you then it effects your points be it negative or positive
i dont get it =[
What's not to get?
lol calm down mr moderator, the kids wont learn nething if your yelling and swearing at em ;)
I dont see the reason why this PQ system is needed?
I mean this is a free forum and anybody can join who are enthusiasts of Hondas,
to either talk about their cars, find technical information about their cars, buy and sell parts, cars, etc, or to just have a social chat and find out about Honda news.
I have not been a member long but i dont see why I should not be able to sell a honda part on here,
which is probably the biggest honda enthusiast forum in oz,
Why make member ship full member ship when its not?
Also what does this achieve? by stopping members from selling online,
There must be alot of parts from members here that other members would love to buy but cannot as they cannot post in the market place as they dont have a PQ point,
I really doubt the moderators are going to sit here 24/7 just giving people PQ points,
There must be a better way to stop spamming,
Or is it that you just want to stop people selling on the market place?
um the reason u can't sell a part is because sum people could just treat this like ebay and sign up 2 sell stuff..
and anyone can give a PQ point, its not just mods...
i dont no how u r relating the PQ system to spam... infractions are in place to ensure no1 spams...
if your looking 2 sell something, go 2 the noob forum, or the accord forum and post some useful informatio, or give someone a helping hand and i'm sure sum1 will rep u, all it takes 2 beomce a member and no longer a newcomer is a rep point from someone with over 100points... and there are plenty of people cruising around on the forum with that ability.
Ill let you know in a years time,
when somebody stumbles along my post and then gives a PQ point,
whateva
quiet annoying considering i started one of the biggest threads accord euros have seen "post your euro" with over 500 comments yet i cant get 1 to get me off this bullshit "newcomer" label, its all about who they pick n choose not wat u actually do if it really is based on u being helpful and so on they would realise by now, not only me their are so many people who help and reply to millions of threads by no1 acknowledges them, so maybe they should get their system together because its extremly unfair and maybe they will relaise wen they look into some peoples replys and post and realise out of all the posts some people have done not 1 of them gets a score, thats bullshit
just to let you know - ive got like 1 rep point for ever 5 posts or so. You gotta try and help out with links etc tat are relevant to teh topic.
no its not bullshit. Its purely stats. More helpful posts the better chance you have of obtaining a rep point. Spread your helpful posts around the forum and soon enough some one will rep you.
I seem to have gotten a rep point last night...but am still a member. Am I just being impatient and it hasn't swapped over yet or is there something I'm missing...>_>
depends who gave you the rep point.
I think newcomers can's make other newcomers members. Is that right?
Ah but this guy is a Member, so not sure. =\
Oh right gotcha. :)
i dunno but iv done as much as i can and i still have no rights on oz honda im selling my car very soon to upgrade and i prob cant even mention that because im still no worthy of it. doesnt matter i bascially done my my whole car on ozonda talking about and asking and replying to hundred on posts and PM messages especially about my suspension set up to help. aw well i give up
you've been a member for 6 months, jsut relax, when the time is right uwill become a member young one...
i was here for nerly 2 years before i got a rep point
i mean, i didnt post at all, but dont expect to be rushed
In teh time you have wasted trying to earn rep just to sell , you could of sold said item/s on another pay website long ago.
lol dude, u ask for help but all u give is attitude, u seem desperate to become a member, and then u tell us it's because u wanna sell your car later, so we assume its the main reason u wana become a member and someone mentions it and u get angry lol wtf.....
EDIT
yayyyy congratulations mr member, u mst be so excited, it now says MEMBER instead of newcomer, man this day > your wedding > childrens birth > childrens graduation > childrens wedding > birth of grandchildren > grandsons graduation and so on and so on.............................................
its not that it started off me wanted to know wats happening and all i received was smart ass replys thats why i got the shits, its just less head ace to have full access
Hey man how'd you get member status?
hey man no idea i think some1 changed it for me ? not sure to be honest with u
Admin, please check that the rep given to Mr George euro is warranted.
That is all.
Thats with reference to this post;
If you're not sure what your rep was for, then its in our best interest to double check for you.
FYI - in case you didnt know - you can check what post has been repped etc by clicking on your User CP.
Ive tried heaps too.. although never been rep pointed ...i have given useful information in peoples post and their questions.. been a member for about 1 year + now...
You've made 48 registered tech posts in the last 1 and abit yrs.
Not even an average of 1 post per wk O.o
you received rep from "trism" for this post -
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showpos...40&postcount=1
This was not warranted , rep is to be only given for technical inquiries or links/help only.
You are a newcomer again , trsim has been infracted for misusing the rep system.
thats kind of a harsh infraction isnt it?
just give him a warning
unless he had done it previously
but that just sounds abit harsh
exactly. I could of banned him by default but chose to issue a warning instead. He , amoungst every member and newcomer here should know better.
All rules are clearly written out for you and others to view. Anything that isnt obvious or any questions you can post in the relevant threads , such as this one.
To cap things off ,
Quote:
By helpful we mean helpful to the thread starter or other users having questions relating to their Honda motor vehicle. It is not to be used for posts informing others how to use this website and/or its rules.
I'm not trying to stir things up here. But after reading through what's everyone's opinion about rep points here at OH, I realised that getting rep points here is getting harder these days.
*bennjamin edit no free plugs for rep.
And ppl are just nasty with giving rep points to the poster because they think that it is not useful for themself.
However, I still don't deny the fact that some members are really nice in giving rep points when they receive help from us as newcomers.
Just throwing my 2 cents worth. Please don't flame me...... :)
The only downfall on the system is the fact that unknowledgeable people struggle to become a member even if they are a dedicated honda enthusiast and a frequent member of this forum. Is the only way to become a member still to register PQ points?
I think there should be ways for the unknowledgeable to somehow prove their worth and become a member so they can be a part of the rest of the site which the "newcomers" cannot access.
Just throwing out an opinion as it seems to constanly pop up how hard it is for certain people who really try to become a member... They end up trying to help with something they are unfamiliar with just in order to attempt to gain PQ points.
Personally i havent found it that hard contribute a knowledgeable or helpful post. It could be a valid opinion, links to other sites to answer questions (e.g. answering licensing and registration questions by finding the appropriate link to their local RTA) or actually answering a technical questions.
i personally think PQ points are more a indication of how helpful a member is.
The only real area that "Newcomers" cannot access is essentially the For sale forum. That said, you only need 1 PQ point to gain member status. Thing is that you don't have to have all the answers. Simply point the original poster to where he/she can find the solution (ie post a link) and you can get a PQ point for that!
That said.......if anyone has any feedback I'm always open to suggestions on how to improve the system.
Couldn't have said it better myself! I've actually just updated the first post to reflect this.
I think an audit into some peoples PQ status should be initiated.
Cuz there are some people (and I dont care how helpful you are) that seriously wouldn't know a mandrel bend from a camshaft and they have over 9000 rep points and over 9000 reputation blocks
It's not about the reply I reckon. It's about putting and sharing information up here for people in the forum to do their search. If that post is not informative at all......seriously...I'm speechless.....If I have the power, I would rather delete that post.
Anyway Claymore, I understood what you said. Perhaps it just work the way that you said.
Cheers :)
Its not about posting up info once or twice and expect to be repped.
The system works if you continually post information/helpful posts.
You've made 42 registered "tech" posts since Jun 2008.
Not really a clear indication of effort if you ask me.
Keep posting and u'll be recognised and rewarded soon enough.
Thanks Q_ball and the rest of the moderators in OH.
points noted... :)
Hey is there a reason why I cannot post a reply in the Want To Buy section? Does anyone else have this problem? How to rectify?
Thanks
3 year old noobie...
great work! =]
i need a point.
never post your phone number up dude.
otherwise i may register you for some of those ringtone and phone game things that cost $10 a week
I am sorry but I can't find icon to give point????can anyone help?thanks a lots
To the right of the green/grey circle there's a little square. When you hover your mouse over it, it should say "Add to *name* reputation". Click that. :)
Not the tiny tiny one. There are 3 symbols in the bottom left of that "profile" area. A circle then two squares. Press the middle one.
Yup :)
just be careful. rep points are only spose to be for technical help ie help directly relating to cars
and newcomers points dont count anyway, lawl
hare, M@lew and yourfather,
The conditions of the PQ point system is quite clear (in the first post of this thread). So don't use it on anything BUT technical posts. Infractions issued and innapropriate PQ points removed.
the thing that bothers me is that you need 100 points to be able to affect the rep of other users. so helping out a newcomer with 0 points will get you nothing in return if you are repped by them. kind of defeats the purpose of helping out the newbies. just my 2 cents
Not really. The point is that newcomers need to get atleast 1 point to be able to sell. In order to do that they need to help someone else out (and hence get a PQ / rep point).
The 100 point requirement is so that we don't have every second person handing out points without them proving that they know what they are talking about.
