Honda confirmed with all the sales dealers, that we will get the new civic type-R in 3 door in 6 speed manual only. It will be at least the integra type-R motor previously use. K20A 200HP 141KW. As the integra 2006 Type-s is equip with a K20A 220HP 154KW engine. The price is yet to confirm, but in a sales meeting i was told Honda is trying to set it at about the same price as the entry integra which is about $39,000 + governemnt stamp duty and license.
We are confirmed taking order on DEC 2006 and new Type-R hatch will be arriving in JAN 2007. Save up for this car, because it will not be the 114KW k20A on the sport civic , plus the delivery is quicker then the sedan and much lighter!and more powerful!
This wednesday, test drive the new 2007 Honda legend 217KW LEGEND. Stay tuned, more new Hondas re-design model coming in end of 2006 and 2007. P.M me for more info.
sounds good, but no more case for Type R, hope someday can grad one

You don't know anything about the Mazda3, so your comments don't hold water.Quote:

ya, i agree as wellQuote:

yaris is decent for the price, but looks crap too.
that left with mazda3, but things getting funny with it. initally i like 3 a lot, sexy and in fasion, but the more i look at it, the more ugly it gets.
man, now i totally dislike mazda 3 (the shape at least), and i am just glad i got my civic.
hug my civic;) :car: :honda:
i narrowed my choices down to the 3, the focus and the civic. the focus was first to go on styling and interior quality (cheap). i was looking at base models only (VTi, Neo, CL).
i chose the civic for ABS (should be standard on all cars), power windows, cruise control, mp3 and interior quality. the 3 goes a bit better. styling was about on par. its getting hard to find a bad small car nowadays.
In my point of view, civic would be the best choice in thoes range, and base of its respectaion, it worths us to invest $$ to get.
i reckon the only reason someone wouldnt get the civic is coz of the wait n service fees and rude dealers from artarmon
the wait was also a factor but so was the fact that the 3 was in runout and therefore an older model
Your dealer must've been trying to rip you off. The Mazda3 should only be $610 more expensive for the exact same specs minus cruise control, not an option on the 3 unless you get it dealer fitted.Quote:

Autos are quicker than manuals.
There was a point where you can get autos in 1-2 weeks. compared to 3 months for manual
How can autos be quicker than manuals?
Didn't they say that a manual VTi was quicker than an auto Sports?
the wait is shorter.. although wen i was ordering mine, the auto had a longer wait, especially in black or silver moss... i guess it depends on the dealer's allocationQuote:

Besides all that, if it wasn't for the service costs I would have bought an Astra over the Civic anyway.Quote:

This was with full on road costs and with more accessories than the base models.Quote:

hey just out of curiosity.. not trying to be smart arse.. y do u wanna get the civic when you think mazda3 is better spec'd??Quote:

I think the 3 may have better road holding and a sportier drive, but very nosiy front suspension, the 4 speed auto is not the best, and the fuel consumption could be better for a small car. The Civic on the other hand rides smmothly, has good interior space, good fuel consumption, but too soft/not sporty/youthful as it once was, limited and boring colour choices, and the paint does not have the lustre of others, eg euro. Just what i think.
Civic all the way :).. nothing beat's the brand name of Honda..
=) im just after is250's opinion coz he seems to know quite alot about the 3 and likes them but still opt for the civic.. just wonder y..
as im thinking of getting one in the future
all this civic talk - when are we going to have a civic meet? : )
LOL i'll bring me civic as well :).. where would the meet be though?
Have you seen how many Mazda3s are out there lol. No seriously, my mind isn't made up yet but I'm leaning towards the Civic because it's newer, has much better fuel economy, better interior and the 3 did seem a bit noisy and less refined (should be better with the facelift).Quote:

^_- i ordered july 17th. said till b here early sept.
dealer update said its in aus. but donno when it will arrive in syd. so now waiting. ~~~
I saw a black VTi on the road yesterday, it looks so sweet I considered calling my dealer and seeing if I could switch colours (from silver moss) but then common sense kicked in and I remember how much I hate washing and polishing every week.
EDIT: 10 days until my car arrives at the dealer!
yeh if we could pick again we'd go for silver.
Scratch2k : did they actaully tell you the car is in blah blah. n is on its way to blah blah?
damn. i only got the car is in aus. but didnt get the will be in syd on blah blah date~
hmm i rememba when i got my 7th gen that my dealer rkns the silver is more popular than the black. I was lyk hmmm are u just saying that cuz u have stock of that one and lyk a 1month wait on the black? haha.. Apparently ppl tell me that silver is most popular for civics.. dunno about current model?
im up the civic meet yo
Picked up my black VTi yesterday. Ordered 12/08/06.
Scratch2k, unfortunately I will have to wash and polish every week as you said. Black is indeed a big dust collector.
CONGRATS!Quote:

I'm from Melbourne. I bought it from Robert Lane in Brighton.
My car is an auto.
LOL. Mazda 3 is pretty crap compared to the Civic.
I think I'm pretty lucky compare to u. I'd put that to the fact that I've got from one of the biggest Honda dealer.Quote:

um mazda is perth is having some m day special which is pretty good:
750$ free extras
500$ free fuel
and free rego for any new car
might sway a few lookers
Dyljoy: no problem:) pic for you 4 sure!!
rhk: mazda is always having a sale~
Not interest on Mazda, but Honda, hoho
All they told me was that the car would be at their dealership on the 18th and that it will take them about a week to fit the accessories (tinting, sound deadening, alloys, bass works are pretty labour intensive I suppose).Quote:
