i just bought a set of toyo t1r last weekend. the grip is awesome... compared to what im used to which is regal rd3100 lol.
they seem to be quite quiet too.

hey anyone tried toyo r1r? rough estimate on price? they seem interesting and only came to australia last month?
i just bought a set of Yokohama Advan AD-043 215/45/16. What i noticed they are crap if they are cold. But once they are warmed up they are pretty good. Not as good as re010 though

My brother is after a set of tyres (preferably Yokohamas).
Specs are: 215-40-R17 (What is the RRP of Yokohama tyres for these specs (per corner)? And how much can you shave off the RRP ;) )
Can anyone point him in the right direction to a tyre dealer in the Sydney Metro area where he can get them cheap?
^^ C.Drive or S. Drive. But I prefer Bridgestone RE001 Adrenalins. Ask him to call up Bob Jane in EACH suburb in Sydney Metro.
anyone tried federal 595 or 595 evo. are these good for value? just haven't really heard anything about them and according to their website they are good. well i know they are of course gonna say they are good so just wanna hear what other people have to say about them. also are they cheaper than the more expensive brands?

BTW, dropped by a Bridgestone Tyre shop. Got quoted $255 on the Adrenalins per corner.
Got quoted on the Turanza's (I think) at $200 per corner.
Are those prices reasonable?

Done 3 track ( AHG test track at the Perth airport )tuning days now on my set of RE001's, and after the 1st outing the shoulder got pretty chopped up and after the 2nd outing the outer edge of the sidegrooves vanished altogether. I find that once the shoulders had been rounded off they tend to stop getting worse.

I've been running 40psi cold pressure mainly on track days, over 42psi the way the slip angles build up wasnt to my liking so I find 40psi the best compro for me. My eg runs 2 deg neg camber on cheapie Kings Low which is bit soft on good street tyres.
Still hugely impressed with them even b4 the cheap price is taken into consideration, as they are designed for all round driveablilty is achieved partly by a softish outer sidewall to optimise grip balance between the loaded and unloaded tyres.
As for the their performance at the track, it was only in the 2 tight corners ( 20m radius corner ) where the outer shoulder folded over and the grip snapped off where I wish they had stiffer shoulders, the rest of lap was fine where most corners were around the 40m-60m radius range.
In terms of numbers, they pulled a max lateral g of 1.20g, and sustainably in the 1-1.05g range.
Cant wait to get my hands on a set of RE11 which has a more agressive tread pattern still and presumably stiffer shoulder.
