everyone seems to be raving about re001. i have to try these tires to see what the fuss is all about. im already over the moon about my toyo t1r so if these are better which it seems they are i will keep using re001. also they are pretty much the same price so yeah.

They are over 18 months old now, harden from overheating, have chunks missing all over the place and have worn outer shoulders much like the picture above. With king springs and only -2 degrees static camber, you'd be well into positive camber through the turns. I'm worried about rolling over with -3.5 degrees front camber and 7kg front springs!

running 15x6 fat fives string, so pretty baggy profile and with this setup on the hard turns I prob have 2 deg postitve camber on the outside wheel LOL....
but it's not that bad and quite do-able by changing my driving style to suit, ie not point trying to wind on more lock and more throttle when the outside front tyre squealing for mercy.
I've got a set of Toyo R888 coming from Taleb next week and Rota 15x7 coming from the states for more serious timed events.
RE001 are good for lateral grip (i.e. hard cornering), but are not as good as other tyres for straight line grip (i.e. hard acceleration in 1st gear in the wet).Quote:

went to the barbagallo raceway's ( hosts v8 supercar round) tuning day today, did 52 laps total, about 45 hard laps in my 1024kg car weight EG with B16A w/ 107kw atw and dc2 262mm brakes config. They pulled 1.10g on 85km/h turns consitently and max 1.15-1.20g at those turns.Quote:

I was expecting to fare worse in terms of wear and tear for track work.
just bought a set of re001 over the weekend to replace my yoko A539s. first impression is that they give quite good traction, that could be cause theyre new though. LOL
so i'll have to see how good they compare to my yokos, which were highly regarded when they were still in production.
What do you guys think of the Falken ZE912s? I've just had a quote on them at $138 a tyre for my standard DC2 R15s, or $179 for 205/50R16 (which I'm thinking of getting). Quite a bit cheaper than the RE01s at $196 / tyre for R16s.
You can get them [Ze912] for $99 -assuming you want 195/50/r15
I havent found much review of them, but i know the Ziex range isquite shit especially the 326 and 329
