Orange recaros?? =P if they make it
hey guys, has anyone installed an aftermarket headunit in there fd. Ive been at it for like 5 hours now. For some reason my headunit isn't getting power to it. And the speakers arent colour coded. It's driving me insane. Does anyone have any tips? My headunit turns on for abit, then it will turn off again. I have no idea wtf is happening.

?!?!?! really?! i got it running, home made light tester haha, my white wire was power, i got 3 speakers running, but have no clue wat wire is my acc power. I've tried all the different combinations but its not working for me. Only 3 speakers are running atm. Not to sure what to do.
take a pic and show us your wire loom...ill show you what they're meant to be
I think the white wire is constant power so you don't wanna use that one

Shouldn't the massive wires be power? Should'nt be too difficult to find which one is live right?

anyone changed their fd1 front and rear brake discs and brake pads?? any recommendations? coz honda said i need to change my rear brake pads and get the discs machined coz it's out of alignment...
my car has done around 45k with the stock pads. i thought they might be due for a change. asked my mechanic to check em while he was doing a service and said id be able to get at least another 30k out of em. (hybrid driving tho lol) stoked!!
Yeah same here. I'm on 47,000km and my brakes are still 80% but they may have been changed...
^danny I recommend if you want to upgrade your rotors get some aftermarket cross-drilled or slotted ones. Will probably cost less than OEM but look much better.
However if you want to save your money just machine your current ones...should have plenty left on them
Anyone know where to get long anodized lug nuts that aren't rays? They're so expensive

get some slotted rotors if you need to change them.
If your after cheap pads go for lucas or bendix pads. If you're want abit more force then have a look at intima brakes or hawks HPS

i got mine for about $200 and got a friend to install for me without charge. they're aftermarket ones, not from the dealer, but still work and look the same as oem.
actually, i just remembered that we got it fitted, but for some reason there wasnt any power running to them. something about fuses?? (im no auto specialist lol) but i took the car to an auto electrician and they sorted out the correct wiring for $40. so approx $240 in total

actually you can easily tell if your disc is out of alignment...do you feel some vibration while slightly braking? the only reason i can think of is when our disk is out of alignment or the surface of the disc has grooves in it..thats the time we need to machined or re-face the disc....better buy an aftermarket ones..

I'd be making sure my battery is 600cca or more...just to be safe. But a stereo usually doesn't draw much current...if you have a powerful sound system I'd be worried otherwise a movie with ample audio shouldn't be a problem. If you're worried start the car for a bit now and then :p

Stock batteries aren't great and if you're still using it I think it's time for a new one
i've just hit 47,000km's and at 43,000km's the dealer mentioned i had only 3k-4k left remaining for rear pads... I can already feel the brakes taking longer to respond.... so time for a change soon when i find a set of aftermarket rear pads.. most probably project uQuote:

there's nothing wrong with cheaper nuts...if they're made from good material there's no reason why they won't last.
just make sure you buy something reputable
and i went for the buddyclubs
