Ive had my car a long time had have gone years with no rear sway with good shocks, then with an oem ek4 sway, but Im going to a larger rear sway as Im replacing the lcas for newer bushes as well as adding camber adjustment to the rear. I changed the rear trailing arm bushes recently and noticed a difference :) I've avoided coilovers as in the Nissans Ive helped people build when theyre on the right setting for the track my arse does leave the seat on open roads when Id boot it around the bends lol
the konis I have atm are stiff enough in a light car, which will be forsale in a month :)
Thicker rear sway bar?
I don't even think you got one in the first place lol.
Depends how thick you want to get and for what purpose.
You can pick up used EK4/EM1s up for about $50-150, they are 14mm i think in size.
Then you can get a EK9 one which is $300 new I think? but then you need an ASR brace to stiffen the rear subframe to prevent it from tearing due to the thicker sway bar.
Ek9 rear subframe is much stronger than other EK models.
EK9 RSB is about 23mm I think or 22 cant remember.
yea I got an Si(Em1) model sway to fit years ago using oem parts and brackets, good mod, straight mount up with the right bolts and washers :)
but its not sufficent anymore for where Ive been taking the car on my spare time lol
then we do brakes...
offtopic, ek only section ftw :)
Unless you go circuit racing , it's not really needed to get an EK9 rear sway bar.
Of course it helps but if you are on a budget then I would invest in coilovers better.
Some light weight wheels and better tyres also does wonders.
No point in awesome suspension when the tyres you are rolling on dont stick on the road when you want it to.
Remember the tyres and wheels are on the road the majority of the time when you drive your car.
205s are a must on a civic :) Ive yet to find a nice 195 that fulfills my needs
