gheyness
over a year.
lol wholey fk.. should have swaped them over haha
Are kumho 31's rotatable??
KU31's are directional tyres (they must rotate in one direction only) so you can only swap them from front to back. Alternatively, to do left to right, you have to dismount the tyres from the rim and re mount them on the other side.
that's the worst thing about camber.. what a waste of rubber :(
crazy thing is the car was going dead straight in a line. guess it pays to have regular wheel alignments yo.
that reminds me - I have uneven camber on my front wheels. where can get camberbolts for the fd's? Whiteline?
Only know of 2 companies that do camber bolts. SPC Performance and Ingalls, both can be bought on eBay. I am using SPC for my front
just sold my mugen lip kit :(
car looks fairly naked.. and theres a crap load of double sided tape around the car that i need to take off lol. that will take me a while to do..
whyd you sell it Aero? Are you selling your car?
Eh, just want a change to the look of it. Prob won't sell the car too soon unless some offers me money lol. I'll try n just go for the usdm look. No kit n just drop on wide wheels. I'll need to have a look at how much mud guards cost. Maybe roof racks? LOL
do it :)
aero if you find a good source for mud guards let me know.
I'm thinking of going mugen RR front and mud guards.
using ebay as my only source... ive found these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mud-g...Q5fAccessories
which are fairly cheap.. but could be dodgy
they dont look exactly the same as the american ones:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-11...Q5fAccessories
the more expensive one seems to be longer on the rear mud guards... which is what i would prefer... but it costs so much more than the chinese ones:confused:
so they say the roads in syd are pretty fked, and yea... i do believe them, i dont know why the RTA doesn't spend money fixing up the roads,
fish market was awesome btw LOL
Sydney roads are so crap ffs, scrubbing everywhere. Did you just go fish market?
LOL yeah didn't end up doing much really, just drove around, went to bankstown, found a random dfo on the way near homebush so we stopped there, wanted to check out cabramatta but was too far and didn't have time
was only in syd to get my new car ;) epic drive back though on mono flex coilovers i tell you
yeah man sydney road really f*cked gettin tired of pot hole and uneven road! i will get jeep or hummer for my next car lol
i also don't get why you guys have no right turn signs up like almost everywhere lol annoyed the hell outta us, had to do massive loops just to get into the street we want, and those forward facing fixed cameras, never seen them before
what i do like is how you guys have the speed sprayed on the road, its handy
lol you should see what happen in george street, couple of cars with interstate plates always turn left into tram lane because there is no sign at all.. dangerous lol!
it's not USDM to have no kit..
All the hellaflush 8thgen civics have their OEM kits on.
Not the sedans. Most of the 4 doors have no kit and are just dumped

lol try and roll a coke can under those! delish!
Looks like i was wrong then! And that i haven't gone to 8thcivic for ages. They have the nicest things in america :(
obtw...

These 2 have kits :P
That marone one is sex
Yeah, but I did mention in the post that the last 2 have front lips. But no side and rear skirts
maroon :P
the one way roads around the CBD tripped me out the most, saw cars parked on the RHS and was =\ haha
Guys I plan to buy a 67cm (L) x 4cm (D) alloy radiator el-cheapo ebay style for the FD. The reason being I want to free up some space from the front of the car to the engine bay for future mods...anyone had experience with these? Is it difficult mounting aftermarket radiators?
LOL sorry aero, i fail
xenon, omg lol ru gonna mount it interfooler style?
Nah lol stock location just to the left...I want to make a ram intake feed from the grille to my ram pod
Hey guys, I just brought back Honda DVD headunit from my home country ( Pakistan ). This is the system which is being installed their by Honda Pakistan in FDs on premium models. This is not the exact same model but very similar.
I followed a DIY and installed it yesterday. So far i am very satisfied with my purchase. Let me know what you guys think of it. It doesnt sound like Pioneer or Alpine, same or a bit better than stock but i was't expecting outclass quality anyway. It looks very clean and fits very well with the dash thats why o chose this one.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. :)
Looks pretty good man. How much was it to buy?
Looks great man! Wouldnt mind one of those upgrades from the our stock ones.

Hi guys. Today I got bored and relocated my short ram to behind the battery. I then used a 1m piece of flexipipe ($35 from autobarn; ripoff) to route cold air from the lower front bumper grille straight to the ram pod.
Looks a bit dodgy atm with the pipe ziptied to the bumper :P still thinking of what I can use as a sort of 'bell mouth'...any ideas?
Lol i never reckon those work, but worth a try. Use the end of a vuvuzela for a velocity stack
@asgr8, is that the same as the OEM-dealership-extra navi you can get here?
i don't think it would be curtis265, looks different, plus i dont recognise the sd caard panel on the right, and for $380 i don't think it would be OEM.
getting an exhaust system.... whats the diff in getting a 60mm to getting a 70mm system? would the 70mm have less back pressure and therefore less performance? n which would be louder =/
The general consensus is that 2.25"-2.5" is for NA setups, and >3" for turbo.
So... 60mm = 2.36", 70mm = 2.75". I'd go for the 60mm system. Loudness isn't really related to exhaust diameter.
but the smaller the diameter the greater the back pressure generally yeah? therefore better performance? theoretically..
If it's too small, yes. If it's too large u get what's called a 'scavenging effect' which will make the velocity too slow at low RPM and won't have the natural 'pulling' effect of the exhaust waves from the right sized pipe.
from http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Miscella...austtheory.htmQuote:
We've seen quiet a few "experienced" racers tell people that a bigger exhaust is a better exhaust. Hahaha… NOT.
As discussed earlier, exhaust gas is hot. And we'd like to keep it hot throughout the exhaust system. Why? The answer is simple. Cold air is dense air, and dense air is heavy air. We don't want our engine to be pushing a heavy mass of exhaust gas out of the tailpipe. An extremely large exhaust pipe will cause a slow exhaust flow, which will in turn give the gas plenty of time to cool off en route. Overlarge piping will also allow our exhaust pulses to achieve a higher level of entropy, which will take all of our header tuning and throw it out the window, as pulses will not have the same tendency to line up as they would in a smaller pipe. Coating the entire exhaust system with an insulative material, such as header wrap or a ceramic thermal barrier coating reduces this effect somewhat, but unless you have lots of cash burning a hole in your pocket, is probably not worth the expense on a street driven car.
Unfortunately, we know of no accurate way to calculate optimal exhaust pipe diameter. This is mainly due to the random nature of an exhaust system -- things like bends or kinks in the piping, temperature fluctuations, differences in muffler design, and the lot, make selecting a pipe diameter little more than a guessing game. For engines making 250 to 350 horsepower, the generally accepted pipe diameter is 3 to 3 inches. Over that amount, you'd be best off going to 4 inches. If you have an engine making over 400 to 500 horsepower, you'd better be happy capping off the fun with a 4 inch exhaust. Ah, the drawbacks of horsepower. The best alternative here would probably be to just run open
exhaust!
Less backpressure -> less performance = myth
Assuming you don't go overboard with pipe diameter I.e 3" all the way on na
Thinking of hooking up my hibeams as DRL's like here
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/light...low-beams.html
or
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/light...no-switch.html
Has anyone tried this?
I'm currently using a 20W parking light bulb in the normal 5W slot, and I usually drive day / night with parkers on.
I'm thinking this DRL using a resistor and highbeams running at a percentage of their maximum could be cool though
thoughts?
Haha, the DRL circuit isn't included in the audm FD's because it's not required by law and would be cheaper for honda to produce it without that extra 2m of wiring in it.
Basically, we don't have it, so it won't run on low power like DRL's should. (u cant add fuse 37 either.. i tried ages ago)
You cant use a 20W parker because that's going to set things on fire.
You cant use use a resistor on ur high beam because... to haev the DRL on you'd have to use ur highbeams, meaning the lowbeams will be on, meaning you lose highbeam functionality.
Nah nah I'm talking about introducing a completely different circuit in.
just need to connect up:
- battery;
- switch / or connected to an accessories wire to turn them on automatically when key is turned;
- resistor ( to limit the current to the light - hence making it less bright)
- fuse (safety first)
- grounding.
So tapping a separate circuit connected to the high beams.
The only issue I can see is if you tried to turn the high beams on whilst the DRL's were on.. might blow the fuse / bulb.
Should work no?
anyone had experience with kakimoto exhaust?
nah you can't introduce double the voltage, it won't work like that.
Still won't function right though.
I imagine tou'll need some sort of relay to turn the DRL circult off when you flick the high beam stalk.. Quite a lot of work involved. Perhaps call Honda USA and ask for the part?
i have one on my evo, its quite loud on the outside but its pretty quiet inside the car
http://www.amazon.com/VDC-Automotive...256061&sr=1-14
think this would work..
hows the performance of the kakimoto stig? and does it soudn nice loud or dirty loud lol
btw is that why u came down to syd? to pick up an evo? =O... pics =D??
smaller diameter the louder, the bigger diameter the deeper the exhaust note will be
kakimoto exhaust are exactly what stig says, loud outside and comfortable inside
anyone live at teh gold coast or near it, wanna kindaly tell me how the weather is?
i have a plane and hotel booked for this thursday to sunday. :O
pm me... so we dont clog up this forum :)
pm sent dez
hahaha! i sent him one too
took my front bar off for the very last time i hope, removed my hid kit :)
damn u parting out stiggy?
saw u driving at oxley today khoi. i was checkin out the flood waters lol
Killing time in Sydney airport, on route to gold coast :)
lol i just left goldy to go to bris; and had to cancel my flights to syd ;(
have fun down there man, how long u comin up for
don't get flooded...
i think goldy is fine.. worst hit is up north & ipswich then into brisbane.. still 75% of qld is flooded
Sort of looks like the mugen pedals lol. Modulo looks fine, pricey? looks good man
