Nah, his excess is $1150, that's why he lowered his premium. This is normal in the insurance industry.

u mean theres the normal excess + the under age excess right? i know thats normal cause i have that clause as well. but my premiumum is no where near as that cheap!
Yeah thanks been busy but good. Cars are running excellent...Now looking to pick up a vespa gt200 for the daily short commute to work.
Not 100% sure if it's in my head or not but I'm had a few occasions now where I have felt abit more engine kick back when in a low gears from quickly coming off the accel pedal.
Cars got 25Kkm on it now.
I was thinking of filling up the engine mounts with a fairly firm compound in the next month to give the front wheels abit quicker response in power delivery. Having said this I have no idea if it's at all possible as I haven't even looked at the mount design.
something like below. had a friend do this on his EM1 and it was fantastic.

man after lowering the car ive been noticing a "clunk" noise as i drive out my gate
i have this stopper that sits upright about 20cm or more off the ground, so when the auto gates close, it will be stopped by the stopper. i parked my car over it today, and realised that theres this cylindrical tank thing near the front half of the car, that resembles a muffler or something. its in between the front wheels and mounted slightly offcentre towards the driver side.
i think this has been wacking the top edge of the solid steel 2cm thick plate/stopper as i drive out (the driveway dips downwards, so it reduces the gap between the car and the ground.
the only way to avoid it it seems is for me to drive dangerously close to the right side of the driveway (since its off centre and the plate is dead centre) thereby avoiding each other.
but ive already "clunk"ed it 3 times. its a very quick gentle flicking noise. scared that i may have damaged it :S tho nothing seems to be wrong atm
also, it could be the arm that connects the wheels to the steering/suspension thats hitting it (cause its a flicking noise) because thats also dangerously close.
i would think that if it was the cylindrical thing, it wud be more that just a quick noise, but more of a scraping noise. esp since its long and is about 40cm long.
anyway. totally paranoid about driving out my driveway now lol
how much lower than standard is it? I already find the std lux height is scraping on driveways as it is.
My name was already on the policy, my premium is $590 and excess is $500 + $650 for being under 22 so $1150 TOTAL Excess if I'm at fault.
^ Exactly :)
Yeahhh :D
Good to hear mate! Vespa GT200 ay pretty sweet! Scooters are soooooooo good on fuel lol
I know that exact feeling...my driveway is pretty poorly landscaped...a bit like:
_/ (but obviously less steeper) lol...it doesn't loot steep at all but it's coz there's a "dip" in the driveway which my euro's front lip has hit a few times...most of the times is the rubber under the front. Euro's aren't "that" lower, it's coz it's such a long car which means there's a higher chance of scrapping the front. I'm assuming that's the case coz my Jazz's bumper is the "same height" but has no problems down the driveway haha.
anyways all, I went for a mini photoshoot last Sunday...got some average photos but less of my car coz I was the photographer haha. Will go back to the same place next time with my mates to get a better shoot (I was sharing a tripod with a mate coz I forgot mine - NOOB =[ - Oh and yes my car's windscreen was 'meant' to be clean but I also noobed that too haha)
Here's one of the shots:

What ya think? Haha
your car looks dumped tony!! very nice! love how your cars at the front, shows the CU2's dominance haha.
getting my car back from the panel beaters tomorrow, hopefully their paintjob is as good as OEM honda's :[ sigh.. i really wish those idiots that keyed my car got ran over by a CU2 due to karma biting their ass.
Haha I wish it was >_>...Thanks!! well it's only at front coz we were originally taking photos of the EG and DC5R...I wasn't sure if my car would fit between the 2 poles (it's a closed off board walk thing and we took one of the poles out haha) :P...so I eventually tried and it just fit! :)
finally got them mounted.
still needs a car wash.
