just sharing my exp,
having read a few threads
changed all 4 tyres to RE001 225/45/R17 made in Taiwan for $240 per corner at Bridgestones stores, fitted and balanced last wkend.
considerably much quiter then wearing out RE040 after 4.5 yrs. havent had a chance to test on wet grip as it hasnt rained that much.
apparently lack of stock for Japanese made RE001, only available in selected centres.
i'm no expert but the Taiwanese ones are pretty grippy in dry and wouldn't spend too much more for day to day driving!
cheers
just put up some new tyre on my car.
Used to run 205/50/15 Re001 on my Jazz, and put some new Pirelli P7 195/15/50, for 570 fitted and balanced.
Initial feeling is lot quiet than RE001, good grip feel, not sure wet performance yet, as haven't run it during rain.
Guys,
I'm looking for advise on the following as replacements for my Euro (06)
a) Michelin Pilot Sport 3
b) Continental ContiSportContact 2
Both are as similar prices (250-270), Melb SE.
thanks

im using kumho ku36's
i cant think of anything bad about them besides one thing....the wear out too fast
Any suggestions for OEM replacement Dunlop SP Sport 300E 195/65/15? Going on an FD Civic
I have heard nothing but good about Dunlop Direzza Star Spec. Apparently really grippy and definitely worth the price.
Doe's anyone have an idea about semi slicks to buy?
Just got some Continental Contisport Contact 2 tyres, gave em' a good test, they are Awesome.
Both in wet and dry, brilliant tyre.
No 1 performer in the wet too.Stoked.
EDIT: At limit (trackwork) they are adverage, normal dry weather driving they are great but again are amazing in the wet!
Just a quick question, is 205/50/15 RE001's for $149 a corner is a good price? Kumho KU31's 195 a corner and Toyo T1R 200 a corner
Dude i talked to said they are now $189, but he has 4 tyres left from last months stock so he can do previous price
Hi Guys,
I'm looking at a set of 4 Contisport Contact 2's for the '03 Euro in size 225/40/18... Around $1000 delivered to me in Canberra. I like my tyres to perform well but be fairly quiet.
Does this sound on the mark or is there something that performs well, is quiet, and cheaper?
Thanks in advance :)
