Also depends in part on your budget. Do you want good wet weather traction etc or is it mostly for the dry?
about 200, per tyre ... or under 1k
half half, dry and wet..
u want a tyre with nice straight grooves down the centre, and swipes off the sides (something like the eagle1 gsd3, but with straight grooves)
hankook k104 and nankang ns2 are a good example
Highly recommend Falken Azenis RT-215
I have that tyre size...but haven't bought anything within your budget...If you want some tyres that work well in dry and wet try: either Dunlop FM901 or Dunlop direzza DZ101 but yeah more expensive than your looking for.
for around $1k mark, get Falken. They perform well in there first 2yrs of life.
after that it will start to slip and slid in the wet.
im running on continentals contisport II
excellent tyre, cost almost 1200 for a set of 4.
if u want a bit cheaper but still want a excellent german made tyre then go check out Fulda tyres
these 2 brands are the tyre of choice from merc and bmw and jags and them.
u could get a falken or potenzas for the same price, if u want performance only. i got these tyres cause they're comfortable tyres, really quiet and are excellent in the wet
JC go with the G3 - will fit in your budget and plenty of grip and life in em.
cap picked up some hankook k104 i heard
Stay away from Hankook Ventus K102. Absolute crap. They were on my car when i bought them and are the worst tyre ever. 205/55/15 on my dc2, don't know the cost buy i wouldn't pay more than $1 per corner. They are so damn hard i reckon they take grooves out of the road.
Everyone was going on about how good the grip on G3's are but from what i've read in this forum lately, they are a budget performance tyre with "OK" grip levels. Do they stick well for a hard twisties session?
Funny you should mention that, I have these tyres on my my99.
I'm glad they are hard, at least I won't have to change em any time soon :D
