Bought the foggies mainly for the looks, although when I did actually use them in the rain/fog I found them to be very useful, no regrets buying them.
Ripped my front and rear lip off my bars lol!
Snapped them and luckily I was at a panel shop who said hey no problem well fix them :D
Thanks - Its only a CXI though :(
I have been slowly upgrading it with all OEM parts (apart from the stereo and such).
The next things for me will be some Amber foggies, JDM visors and an EK9 shift boot. That being said, if any other nice EK9 goodies pop up, Ill see what happens.
Cheers. Yeah, with this car it has pretty much been. Save up money, research and then wait a bit. So far I am pretty happy with the result.
I would make a build thread, but I am not sure how interested people would be. Progress is pretty slow on this car, and all the mods are just subtle. Haha.
I've been thinking of doing an EK9 rear lip in the same ABS plastic as the rest of the lips around the car. But I am not sure as to how it would look. At the moment it is all finished by the mud flaps.
finally source dc2 rear brakes with abs lines an plugs, cant wait till chuck em in.... such a relief now lol, one less thing to buy
Sold my EJ8 ! new owner just drove away - gonna miss it...

hmm poor choice man. EJ8 looked good.
Today/night I made a build thread for my car. Only took 5 hours :/ I am blind from staring at this laptop for so long...
Ha, my thinking exactly... best way to do it if you want to do it right the first time :)
Don't worry man, my build has been going for more than 2 years! I'm so frickin' slow in my old age lol - but i don't like doing all mods in one or two months, no fun to me, would just feel like a rush job.
But I think the guys on the forum would like to see another clean EK hatch build thread! And get some advice from them as well - they've always helped me out :)
As everyone knows, my suggestion is OEM all the way or quality Japanese parts> Yes, it costs a bit more, but lasts longer, looks better, looks cleaner and you can always part the car out one day and make most of your money back - so in the long run it's really much the muchness... you just pay more to start with.
Post a link if you decide on a build thread!
i started the car for the 1st time since November and bought some skunk2 Stg1 cams and cam gear for my build
Hmm feel like doing a build thread to keep track of my car and diary. Had an ek4 before and got my fulls and went for a type x. I'm back to ek4 again and will be sticking with oem and quality parts. No fakies!
Back on topic. Installed brand spanking new coilovers.http://184.72.239.143/mu/dcf47c43-f054-6f64.jpg

Today is 40 degrees and I woke up at 5am to get this done before the heat kicked in
rofl kirzyyyyyy you are the man!
I have a set of those chopsticks yo :P
Yeah, Doing it slowly has served me pretty well so far. I might have to get a thread together, I'll have to check out what photos I have lying around from the process of building everything up. It would be good to log some of the maintainance and stuff I do to the car. As far as the rear lip goes, there is no question about the fact that I will be going OEM, I am just wondering how it would look if i continue the lip in black around the back. At the moment, the side skirts are finished pretty well by the mud flaps, so I am not sure. I am all for OEM.
EDIT: Put together a small thread on the stuff I have done to the car, it is Here
those chopsticks are cool!
anyway i did some more things to my EK today! - pretty much worked on the rear of the car and abit of the front.
1. Rear wiper delete and replaced with OEM Rubber Grommet
2. Removed rear wing brake lights and replaced with all new lights - because 1 burnt out so i decided to replace all of them and never do it again. btw they were so cheap 50c each!
3. Removed facelifted tail lights and replaced with OEM EK9 tail lights - also replaced all the globes/reverse lights.
4. Cleaned up corrosion of battery terminals
5. New Supercharge Gold battery!
6. Flushed radiator coolant and refilled
7. Installed new OEM ignition coil - car runs smoother now!
8. Replaced wiper blades with OEM - best thing ever!
did heaps today!
Fitted front & rear Buddy Club camber kits & while I was in there (front driver wheel well), took out the stock air filter baffle box thing & made up a cold air intake for it. Now need to take it to my local wheel & tyre place to get an alignment done tomorrow.
Forgot to add, replaced radiator cap as my current one was deteriorating and falling in pieces.
Riced the civic this weekend.
put LED's under the door handles of my 96.
have to admit, it looks pretty sick.
and with all the cars driving around with aftermarket lights at the moment,
this is one of the only mod's I haven't seen yet. (I know they would exsist on some model somewhere)
will post pics soon.
put some vtir seats, facelift model, so its got the much better pattern, makes a HUGE IMPROVEMENT! for the price instead of buying replicas or Recaros for that matter, well worth the investment :D
just finished putting audi style l.e.d lights under my head lights. cant wait for it to get dark
painting my 17's :) there sanded back and soon to give them a wash then spray them in gloss white!
Got my rust cleaned up underneath where the windscreen sits, new windscreen mouldings on and door moulds ftw! Also got my cupholders in, big big thanks to Trav! (egSi)
Got the f7 subframe brace along with blox LCA installed :)
Installed genuine CTR red carpet
Got the fog lights installed
See my build thread for pics
my supplier said hell swap over my tuner series stage 1 cam for racing series stage 2 for same price.
i agreed and dropped of the EK to the mechanic to get the B20 swap on the way
new front oem Honda wheel bearing, oh what a difference :) nearly all bushes installed
& got the front bumper painted & lip repaired and painted with a very nice final buff :)
how much did painting / repairing the front bar cost?
finished repainting my wheels :) will upload pics soon ;)
spent 8 hours tryna do my rear brake conversion, so far, im bouts half way, FML... the diy looks easy, i guess they missed out on about another 15 steps!!!! or so lol
while not today, it was on the weekend that my creaking clutch pedal was back again (as the clutch pedal rises and engages): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxn3iAXH00k
It started to creak after about 80km into the week when the weather was steaming hot, especially here in NSW on Saturday. On Sunday, when we had the cool change... it was as quiet as a mouse...
So I took my misses civic gli to a job. This [deleted] guy calls me and asks to see the car. Full knowing the price im after. I have it advertised for 7 grand. Luckily we were in the same area so I decided to meet with him. He looks over the car, starts to point out things wrong with it. Telling me that his brother just bought another civic with same kms and "prelude" rims... That the fujita intake i have is a defect and that he will get done for it... He then offers me 5 grand! 2 grand under what im asking for... What an insult! I swear some people dont have any manners! So un-australian!
On a good note, i got Hi/Low Beam HID's installed! YAY! :D lol
@SRV your a funny guy and welcome to the world of fun and games when it comes to selling cars :) get ready for loads of low balling bitches
I swear I felt like bopping him in the head! arghhh! wasted my time! lol
Installed my Tein Super Street Coils
2 days later, finally fitted the rear brakes, ahahahahha, just gotta bleed the system, an shall be done.... i was gonna do a write up an diy of it, but honestly, takes to much time to do it, an 2ndly.....
SOOO many head fu*ks with this conversion, especially the master cylinder.... ARGH!!!!!
You did it! LOL - you could of had a build thread just on your rear brake conversion haha ;)
Good work mate
Nice on the brake conversion!
And YEWWWWW nice choice on the suspension (tein sure make quality parts)
satisfied a little bit, more so agro in the fact it took so long lol
theres a diy on d-series on the rear disc conversion, but they missed out on few of steps, like having to take off the heat shield, how to remove master cylinder an all...but more so the great struggles in getting the stuff back on.... an the amount of dirt getting in to ur eyes while under the car! i never wanna go through this ordeal ever again, once in a lift time is good enough lol
i think the right tire has too much positive camber now, :S time for wheel alignment next week
