My new rims should be coming soon....! =]
Hey does anyone know where I can buy one of those front bumpers which have the mesh grille for the Civic 2006+ model?
Also, anyone know how much an engineer's certificate costs? was thinking of putting 19s on the car and wanted to findout prices of them for insurance/legal purposes due to upsizing 4 inches.
thinking of getting the Mugen front grill for my second Civic, Silver. It has the complete Honda bodykit so wonder how it'll look? :D
Front bumper with mesh ? lower part ? impossible, need to custom by urself, but i'm thinking to do it in next few weeks, using Mazda6 LUX lower grille.
coz i don't like mesh sheet, too thin, i like plastic and thick ones, so it will match my type-r mesh grille.
eng cerf. to upsizing 4 inches ? looks no hope. even mine, up 3 inches, i still worries to get it in next 2 month :(
who cares FD's wont ever get pulled over anyway, your a family sedan with over sized wheels! not a drift pig S13 flooded with defects
well, it's not about pull over. for me, more concern about insurance issue. They said, they will cover as long you declared to them. okay, no problem.
but in other clause, written : they will not cover any illegal modifcation. and upsizes more than 2" in diamater and 1' at width (by RTA) is illegal.
so with NRMA, everytime u had accident, we need go to NRMA center, well, if they see this, see that. hmmm... evryone try to save money, so does NRMA, worry they will try to find some excuse not to cover ur car.:thumbdwn:
I spoke to RTA person, he said maximum upsize is 2" to rims diamater....Which is right ?
of course its right u heard it from the RTA
is that means we can upsize to 18" for 06 Sports, 19" for 07+ Sports, 17" for 06 Vti and VtiL, 18" for 07+ Vti and VtiL?
what ever the overall diameter is of the model you can go 2" inches up. I also confirmed this with an RTA inspector. My thinking before was 15" then you can only go up to 17", but its the actual diameter of OEM + 2 inch. So a VTi that came with stock 15" rims and 65 series rubber should be legal if you change to an 18 inch rim with 35 series rubber.
If you dont want insurance to f*ck you over dont modify your car. simple.
Coz those corporations can and will find any reason not to give you your insurance.
