heya thanks for the compliments
i didnt use the aux cable...couldnt wait to have it installed...lol so i went ahead with making my own cables up. stock head unit doesnt have speakers any more...can still play stuff just no sound =p coz the double din head unit i installed has usb, ipod and aux capabilities aswell so i dont need to use the oem head unit to listen to music
got any pics of your pre-install?
ok cool, just wanted to know how to made your own cable. did you tap into existing loom or purchase 2 x male and 1 x female connectors and wire up in a Y pattern.

hey
im having trouble with my double din pioneer dvd player in mine. i got a jvc
amp running of the head unit to alpine type r speakers but im getting this
engine noise. its only humming when the engine is on but works fine when
engine is off. i tried grounding it better (very thick grounding cable, sanded of the pain, added a second cable from the battery to the body even ran a secondary ground cable to the negative terminal) but i cant seem to get rid
of the humming noise. i can hear the indicators and even the breaks through the amp speakers. help need b4 i go mad
not quite sure whats happening there but when i installed my aftermarket head unit....i taped into the speaker wired hoping that i could run buth units (ofcourse one at a time) but even with one running and the other one off i got this static sound so i just choped my speaker wires and connected it to the aftermarket unit.
i wired new speaker cables to my speakers and ran new RCA cables to the amp. i was told RCA cables can cause this but these were mid price range sony RCA which shouldnt cause this.
any ideas on what else i could try?
guys need some help here. wired up my OEM and new 7" dvd screen in parallel. As i tested, the OEM worked fine, but as soon as i turned on the 7", everything went dead. I disconnected the 7" and still nothing on the OEM. have lost radio and HVAC controls. Checked fuses and the radio 20A fuse is still intact. where do i check next?
cheers
just put up some pre-install pics over here:

all sorted now, the fuse that trips first when there is a short is the dome interior light fuse. replaced that and its all good now.
