haha I saw a blue s2000 couple hours ago from nsw pulling out of maccas on ballarat to take it for a spin, the guy crunched his second gear and when he came back to park he rode the clutch soooo bad. must be very new to manual.

psychologist lol, im thinking he wants to boast that he got it so cheap, with ok kms on it. Or he ran into this thread and thought to ask.
a lot of AP1s have trouble with 2nd gear if the GB isnt warm and if the driver is not good with the clutch in.
take down the number plate if u see it again so we can warn other potential buyers
Not really, had two a 99 and 01. 99 crunched 1st to 2nd when it felt like it, warm or not (under heavy load only). Other one didn't.

I find mine (03) crunches 1st > 2nd when cold as well sometimes. Noticed an improvement, though not totally cured, after changing fluids last service.
i was going to link that TSB.
but i have a 00 and it has the 2nd gear crunch when im not expecting it and am not fully conscious of what my clutch foot is doing in regards to how activated the clutch is.
but generally it does not happen when i have been using the other gears and been on the road mroe than 10mins, if the car is idling though and all things look good ie engine temp, i will still experience the crunch because im not expecting it and the GB is actually cool still.
all this is basically only at high RPMs though and u want to be Doridori and do quick shift then it rejects. so let it warm up all you s2gays.

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/darwi...ged/1043014605
^ I saw that the other day, I know the Kms are a little high but it's not a bad buy considering its also negotiable
i wonder how many power it makes
Searched for a solid 3 months for mine. Inspected 5 which passed internet viewing test. All 5 were horrible when inspected in person. Eventually I kind of stopped looking and came across one by accident.
Completely stock 01 model with 66xxx kms on it. Now owned it for 3 months
^^^ awesome. happy with it?
They're the biggest drainer cars to find in good condition. I searched everyday for an ap2 for 3 months. Worth the wait and every cent I paid.
agreed.
its kinda sad seeing some of those bad ones.
winton?
yeah, I'm trying to find an ap1 in a good condition too, it's sad to have them comp tested and find out their compressions are all over the place :(
lol what would you do?!? drop your price something rediculous. haha damn.
i been getting low balled a bit on my car :( but i figure, ill just keep enjoying it til a serious buyer comes along!
LOL the price to pay for not taking care of it hahaha
the engines though have a pretty high R:S of like 1.85 so the engine walls shouldnt take too much of a smashing, even at the higher revs.
my s2k hunt continues! :)
Me Torell?
Well if my compression is up to shit, that means as the owner (I) would give myself three options:
Rebuild/Replace the motor (to please picky buyers)
Or
Hold onto the car (because fark it when this motor goes I'll replace with a K24)
Or
Consider some seriously good offers (because it's only an S2000 and I have seen motor and box sell on eBay with decent K's for ~$3500+)
how could you trade up an f20 for a k24 :O traitor!
Torque gets you going :P
There's no replacement for displacement.
what'd you guys think of this ? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...?Cr=13&sdmvc=1
I think that's a good price.
that does look good. get a carfacts report ofcourse
yellows nice
R J Missen Auto Repairs ... mechanic or ?
He mentioned a change to rear bumper as it was backed into a pole, and a repaint of front bumper as some things fell of a truck and scratched it.
Edit: Just asked him about it and he said the previous owner serviced it there because he was the owner of the workshop.
Not a big deal if that's all that's happened to it if he is being honest. Best to check it out if you know what to look out for or get it checked out by someone who knows what to look at.
http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...SSE-AD-2715743 anyone checked this one out? description is kinda suspicious though
it didnt have 04 interior.
the s2000 doesnt have much of an interior, so the only thing that could be there is the ap2 double cup holder which it doesnt have.
not sure about the AP2 diff and GB but if it has one it will be smoother, as long as its smooth and works shouldnt be a problem. hardly a good first car though.
buyer decided to keep his s2000, back to the hunt for me :(
off topic but anyone seen this?
http://www.dahtoneracing.com/more-s2k-drag-car/
Ruined such a nice car
For a second there i thought it was an r/c car lol
Damn too bad
you found an ap2 charlie15?
omg we need a thumbs up for that one
I think we will use the thumbs up when someone buys an 02 for 35k
35k is pricey, i think for that much money you can get a decent one with more Ks and just have it polished and re-upholsted and rebuilt.
Also almost 3/4 of the way to an NSX
Ooooooooooo i went there
Back on topic -
A lot of s2k's on the market are overpriced, all the good ones come and go so quickly
@ 35k that one wont be going anywhere soon.
its been on the market a while, you could probably save up to buying it. then by one that comes in cheaper and spend the other 10k on good mods. like fixing the AP1 suspension because its stupid.
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/melbo...000/1044045915
I r confused lol "amazing" condition at $5000 haha, maybe no engine lol!
hmm some fair comments in there!
im negotiable on price but hopeful too.
yeh nsx territory :P imagine what your gonna get yourself into buying a cheap nsx LOL
Lotus territory I reckon, or ap2
S2000 has reliability, airbags and air con as standard. The reasons why I bought an ap2 over an Elise. Creature comforts not available in an Elise. I'd imagine they'd be more fun though.
Torell you better be prepared to move a few k. At low 30's eventually an enthusiast may purchase it.
say whatever you like, a seller is free to advertise whatever he or she likes. that's the idea of a free market.
if someone values it at 35k, then that's what the car is worth.
^ I agree. If someone values a commodore at 200k it doesn't mean it's worth 200k. That means if you think your Hyundai is worth 100k then that's what it's worth. That's incorrect. A car is worth what someone will pay for it. If no one will pay that amount then it's probably not worth that amount. In saying that, you may just have to wait for the right buyer.
The red ap1 may be as good as new but it is a 13 year old car and for the 35k price tag many people would prefer a newer car or maybe even the newer model s for that price (which when they do come up are usually around that mark).
It would be interesting to see what the car sells for nonetheless.
amant02 is in talks with the potato selling the car
So many rustled jimmies in here ... Its kind of hilarious to see how much this is upsetting people.
chill chill we're all s2k fanatics and have differing opinions that is all :)
That S2000 is way overpriced! 35k. My first reaction when it came up was that it was an AP2. Needs to dip just under 30k for it to sell. I bet you he probably hasn't had one serious call at that price lol. You're right though, his car his price. Only thing is that it's going to remain his car for a long time if he is going prices 5 years ago.
^^ Thats my S2k, and i appreciate the comments no hard feelings.
I priced it up fairly high because if someone wants the lowest kms, there it is.
but in saying that, i hope to sell in under 2 months so it will sell no doubt.
serious lookers! ive had a couple! one low balled a bit too much, but i wanted to sell to him cos he was late 60's and utterly enthused lol. next offer was at 30, but maybe not so serious. couple of hooks here and there, but no sale yet so who knows how serious!
Time will tell! wish me luck!
lol Torell way to hold it together.
after the minor shitstorm you started im glad i haven't put mine up for sale :P
