has nyone redone the antenna on there das?
i put an s2k style one on mine. I like how it looks, you can angle it so it doesn't have any overhang or stick out on a funny angle.
it doesn't get the best reception, but that might be due to wiring.
though i dare say nothing can match the reception of a da9 antenna/fishing pole.
I haven't no, what could I replace it with? Anything, or does it need to be a particular match up?
get an s2k zack...im looken into it! they make it look nice and smooth if its angled right.
I'll definately look into it, as mine was snapped off by one of the previous owners, lol.
How much and what about installation?
I've never seen a DIY job or guide on somehting like that.
I shall google it and report what I find :)
EDIT: This is all I found on OH, but it doesn't really tell me much.
And this is the article on Team Integra he was reffering to I assume, reading through it now :)
Issues with that guide so far...
It's not a DA9! :o
Anyone who can supply a guide like this but for a DA9 deserves a nice rep point ;)
LOL i need help with this, i snapped my fishing pole drove too close to a tree banch
ive still got the silver base but no retractable thingo
pointers?
I'm replacing mine with a blocking plate soon as I cbf.
My Org Aerial started to get really loud the teeth had died inside the unit. And it just keep getting stuck half way so i took most of the plastics out of the boot removed the old unit picked up a basic aerial black one hooked it up and it does the job looks good too.
^Pics? and where did you get the aerial from?
Also, while we are on the subject, anyone know where to get one of those internal aerials from? I have heard of ones that stick on the inside of the glass and others that can go under the internal linings.
I was thinking of mounting an aerial upside down under the rear bumper. reckon that would work?
Went to Supercheap.
Here is the sexy pic 4 you.

got part no for that antenna from super cheap looks good
u got one or ur asking ...
im asking
was awhile ago not sure now sorry. If you just have a look in the store should be in the audio part antenna's etc. wont be hard to spot.
You can get universal honda antennas at autobarn as well. And I've seen some done where the antenna is just a wire, and people have threaded it through the spoiler to hide it. Slightly poorer reception vs cosmetics I guess.
Nah, it would crack in no time. Hole would have to be welded up first. If it were to be all done professionally you would be looking at about$400-$500.
what a waste. just stick to s2000 or like a plastic cap
Yeah agree.
I was stupid about 5 years ago, I had that panel resprayed to get rid of a scratch as well as fix up a few other things. wish I had the antenna hole removed at the same time now. Same with the stupid little water squirter on the roof which does not work on my car anyway (not that i have a rear wiper).
I have also seen the antenna relocated to the roof where the aforementioned squirter sits similar to a lot of newer cars such as the new commodore etc.
yeh thats a good idea mooshie
Yeah I'm too lazy to remove my antenna, but when I do I was just gonna shave it if my panel work got to that point.
Hey mooshie you got pics and a write up of your turbo da? It sounds insane
more info in this thread- http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100472
that is one mint DA, and u actually pull off the body kit, congrats man i rate that! makes me miss my old grey DA that got written off :(
loven it man!
Thanks.
I actually have an OEM kit with all the pieces waiting to go on her at some point. Needs a bit of work though cos some of the parts are cracked.
Turbo has been the priority lately and I want to do some more suspension work so the bodywork may have to wait till the end of the year.
Unfortunately she looks abit silly at the moment cos she is about 3 inches higher than those photos until I sort out our new house's driveway dilemma..
Hey guys, im trying to remove my back seats to get some wiring through for my amp. does anyone have any clue on how to do it?
thx!
yeah there is a bolt in the middle between the seat and the back rest... so you'll need your socket extension... thats all i can remember :)
sall good. i figured it out lol
didnt relise you had to pull out the back rests first
biggest mission haha
thanks for the reply tho :)
lol you dont have to pull out the back rests first !!!
aww wat haha
man i mustve gone the hard way.
i was hoping it was jus a clip in seat lyk my old car, but no there had to be a bolt.
just followed these instructions in the end.
http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/misc/...ump_back-seat/
for anyone whos as stupid as i am n cant pull out the back seat by themselves :p
ah well got there in the end, thats all that matters.
the very hard way lol... it shouldnt have taken you longer then 5 mins........
that one bolt can be accessed with an extension to your socket thingy
Hey guys,
I've been wondering, does your petrol tank hiss when you open the cap? should it?
Mine has every week for two years... so I hope so :P
Yo guys.. I effed up my da9 today
Drove with my sparkplug broken.. but I put it back in..
The car was running rough (probably because it was runniong on 3 cylinders)
So I stopped the car to check it out, and now it wont start at all.
Has no spark... could this have stuffed the module in the dissy. Thats what the NRMA guy told me
cheers
y was the spark plug broken?
I broke it trying to get it out..the lead just snapped..then I put it back
yeh u prob have....
Prob have what mate?
broke the lead
I know that lol.. thats not the problem though as I stated. The car wont start after the lead came off while engine was running
nah nah prob broke the dizzy just the coil i think it is....
if u want get the msd ones off ebay i recomend them
Thanks mate Ill have a look
yeh those msd ones they give u CLEAR rotor caps now aswell... thats awsome but gay for me coz i saw clear ones but only for stock dizzys...
guys my ecu for sale i dropped the price check it out its on dacrew and ozhonda..
Oh so am I ment to get a whole MSD dissy.. arent they like 800 :S
nah its just a upgrade u put external coil, cap and leads for like 100 bucks us
its still cheaper then a new dizzy
Can you show me a link to it?? So what your saying is if the coil goes on a stock dizzy.. the whole dizzy needs to be replaced?
nah the coil is in the dizzy u just replace the dizzy with external one
Anyone done a brake up grade on a DA9? I'm starting to run out of brakes in the hills (back of glorious in particular) and I've got a pretty spongy pedal. I've bleed the brakes and replaced the fluid with dot4, with very little improvement.
Next I was planning on swapping the pads out and getting the rotors machined, but I'm not sure if I should just put something bigger on. How adequate is the stock Da gear with a decent set of pads and braided lines? I don't want to blow money fixing up the stock setup to find that I'm still losing the pedal regularly on the downhill runs.
If anyone tracks their DA I'd like to hear your opinion.
EDIT: I'm running 15's and I don't want to go bigger
I have changed to Type R discs and calipers (282mm) and Type R booster and master cylinder, it makes a massive difference in braking, i can brake really late, and the discs are slotted (redrilled to 4x100) its the best upgrade i have done, will try and find some pikkys
Oh, 2 things, you will need to get your brake lines from the master cylinder to proportioning valve flared, the Type r uses different ends. You will also need to change the plug on the fluid level switch, easy way i found was go to a wreckers and get the plug and wiring from one of the horns, its the same connection, and wreckers gave me free! (and looks factory)
I'm assuming off a DC2R? Can you still run them under 15's? How much did it set you back?
Yeah, off a DC2R, i got whole hub/bearing assembly etc, bolt in, easy as.
The brakes cost $500 from someone here of Ozhonda, flaring cost $20, brake booster and master cylinder from a Japanese Type R cost $50 (friends runs importing company) and brake fluid.
This really transformed my car, I can outbrake a lot of other cars and no fading, so i would say this is a bang-for-buck mod. Now i want to get a pair of re-drilled type R rears to match :) maybe just wait and get a 5 stud conversion, then will sell my current setup.
Changing the booster is a pain, you have to get at 4 bolts up under the dash, usually lying on your back, half in and out of the car, lots of swearing involved...
Keep an eye on the for-sale thread, sets come up all the time
cheers, Tseesinn
Thanks, I'll do some more research into it. Its good to know there's a reasonably cheap and easy upgrade.
y not just get ek brakes there still 4 stud.... coz they bigger then eg but i duno how much diff they r from da
i m actually thinking of going back to 4 studs..LOL
do it
Don't waste your money on larger disks/calipers until you try better pads.
I run stock sized discs with good fluid and good pads and at Wakefield Park last year the brakes were as strong first lap as they were 5th lap. I have a dodgey master cylinder and did a poor job bleeding, and they were strong the whole day with zero fade.
Or spend 4x as much on a stock Type-R setup and still need to buy new pads anyway! Like tires, you can increase the size all you want but if it's a crappy compound, you'll have no grip. That said there are obvious advantages to a 1" master cylinder; but "improving" brake "feel" doesn't make you any faster.
arnt they 262mm rotors? unless you got some whacky brake setup, your stock rotors are 262mm. they eg's are 240. eg and crx guys in the states use our (da9) brakes to upgrade their brakes.
string is onto something though. get good pads first, you'll see a massive difference. If your braking needs will overpower a good set of pads then you probly should know all of the above !
Ez
u upgrade eg brakes because of the drums on the bak
aha... lol i thought you were talkin about fronts.
hi guys ive recently bought a da9 and i have a few queries
it has an ls/vtec conversion with a b18a1 block and b16a head. ive recently bought a skunk2 intake manifold and got the tune booked in, but before i get it tuned i want to upgrade cams and valve springs.
ive looked at getting buddy club spec 3 cams shafts. are these too aggressive?
if so whats the best to go for with stock compression?
CTR cams are a good cheap upgrade
sounds like it will be a ice little DA,
maybe start a progress thread?!
Its prob been posted before but Can someone give me some info on replacing rear trailing arm bushings on the DA maybe tools?? also What about this?? http://www.sptool.com/tool.htm
Rip the rear trailing arms off. Remove bushes, put new bushes back in :D
I used an air powered hacksaw to cut the centre of the bush out then cut a section of the bush out to get it out then just pressed the replacement in using a hydraulic press.
anyone else have a squeek/squeel in their steering wheel when taking corners at a certain speed + angle?
u have low power steering fluid?! check that first.
if its low buy Genuine honda power steering fluid.
