let me know if chan doesn't want the headers, ill most likely grab them off ya and give them a shot :P and the strut brace as well :)
Have only just looked at the comments
I have 2001 Vi auto got it as demo in 2002
Have averaged 7.32l/100km and regularly get 600km per tank. My guess is it has a 45l tank as I've gone over 43l at a fillup. Best was 707km but that included country driving. Most of my driving is city rush hour tho Adelaide is not as clogged as Sydney or Melbourne and you can average 50kmh on a drive to work. I'm not a snail pace driver either so don't know what you others are doing that uses so much fuel.
Good points
Plenty of legroom front and back. I'm 6'3" and will fit in back with driver's seat right back. No other car in it's class for room inside.
Good power leaves Corollas Lancers Nissans of similar cc for dead. VTEC is definite advantage but you've got to keep the revs up. Would prefer manual but wife can't drive them.
Fuel consumption obviously. Used to have 88 DX sedan and had a CRX 1600 TC auto dropped into that, was quite quick then but used more fuel than the Vi and wasn't as quick.
Against
Seats are too small and uncomfortable. Would like Recaros but $2000 per seat is rediculous. Had some in a 78 Accord I had, awesome, wish I'd kept them. Have been told no other Honda seats fit an EU Vi w/o lot of work. Anyone got some Type R EP3? seats they don't want?
Gearbox won't kick down quick enough when negotiating small roundabouts and there is a definite hesitation when you put on the gas which Honda says they can't fault but I think it's dangerous if you need power in a hurry after slowing down or braking.
Overall good set of wheels but I would like to change the wheels and tyres and get some better seats.
Cheapest Recaro is $2100 so they tell me
they were $650 in 1980 ea
Great seat my drivers seat had speakers in the headrest
had money then was single marriage curbs the $$ to spend on cars unless your dad is rich
I saw some 2008 Civic Type R seats on Ebay and the guy reckoned they were $8000 per set from Honda reckon that was bull tho
damn, those must be some expensive seats. i picked up my recaro tomcats for $200 a pair with rails :P but thats off family.. hehe.. lucky me i guess! i don't know why my fuel economy is so shit! i think i need a tuning up? any suggestions as to why my car is running so poorly?
could be just due for a service
well, it has been 5 years :P maybe you're right! and i think you found yourself a fan that day of the meet :P if you read the reflections thread! :D
I agree with spudspanner, after doing wheels and suspension in my EU I find the seats are crap.
Overall though I'm happy with mine :D
is there a cheaper option to coilovers other than springs? which will give me a nice low and firm ride?
I did a bit of research and went the coil overs but there may be cheaper alternatves out there. My coil overs owe me $1195 plus install which is bugger all I reckon
