Anyone know where i can get a good deal on tyres? I figured it would cost the same (if not more) to get the tyres imported/buy separately then get them fitted, balanced and an alignment. Tyrepower in nottinghill does excellent work and has great service but they want $163 a tyre and $60 or 65 or an alignment -_- this is for 205/45/16 kumho ku31s. All other stores i've called up are around the same price too
is that a front or 4 wheel allignment?
i got a 4 wheel allignment on mine for 70 but that wasnt on the books. plus a shop a 2 of my mates work out and im getting to know the owner too.
Yeah 4 wheel alignment. Just so i have a report of how much camber i've got and to adjust the toe so as to slow down tyre wear as much as possible. When i did a bit of calling around, the price should be around 50-70 for the alignment (one place even wanted 90 or some shit).
Do you fit your own tyres Lukey? I'm gonna make a big fuss at the store if they scratch the rims on any of them or chip too much paint off my nuts lol
i thought 90 for a 4 wheel allignment was the norm.
i fit some of my own tyres, depends what sizes if it tho, im not confident on doing much stretch tho
How do you go about balancing the tyres?
you need a tyre balancing machine aswell as a tyre fitting machine.
Do they need to put the wheel on the car to balance it? Or do they just chuck the wheel and tyre onto the machine by itself. Cos i don't get how it accounts for camber and all that
If you get them to balance them, ask them to put the wieghts on the innerside of the rim too ;) Don't worry to much about them scratching them, I left em with my brand new buddyclubs and they came out perfect condition.
Also see if they have nitrogen to fill the tires up, only costs about $4 a tire (Jaxx quickfit) :P probably already know about this. Hahah

no the tyre is mounted to the wheel, then balanced on the balancer, its to balance the tyres with the wheel, so you dont get really bad steering wheel vibrations between 90-120km/h. having ur wheel/tyre balanced has nothing to do with camber/toe/caster/etc., thats all to do with ur allignment
nitrogen is a load of shit imo

Aside from the fact that it'll put me out another 16 bucks! How do i pump my tyres at the BP next to my house! they dont have free nitrogen
