Really? I don't understand, why does a tyre loose grip when heated? I thought racecars take a warm up lap, partially to warm up their slicks.

I checked out yokohama.com.au and found no avid h4s (H-T's legendary all season milage tyre) but found the a.drive r1 that looks the same so im guessing thats what we call them here.

Went to some dealers and got some pamphlets and some well recommended tyres like s03s have no details on having 205/50/15 sizes. On the contrary, places like tyrerack.com say so3s come 205/50/15. does this mean that australia doesnt get them in 15" whilst US does? Has nyone got, or seen s03s in 15"?
I know i could just ask the dealers but the reason im addressing this is because many other tyres have the same situation, such as the avid h4s or a.drive r1s. Can someone explain this?

hey i didnt know s03 came in 15's
i thought they start at 16's

and regarding a539
from what ive experienced is
on track after a few hot laps, i find the tyres overheat
and become spongy, even soft
and grip levels decrease

street tyres arnt realyl sposed to be used on track
but o well

so3 doesnt come in 15 inch!

So that must mean australia doesn't get a.drive r1s in 15 either. Surprise surprise... :thumbdwn:

NEW stock, highly recommended Bang for buck.
not sure on mileage yet as it is only a day old, but compared to my GIII's less noise and handling is pretty similar.
also cheaper than GIII's contact EG5 for all your toyo needs.

I have eagle f1 gs-d3, was fortunate enough to drive with them on for track and daily driving. grip level is excellent in the dry. Haven't let me down so far. Wet is ok, not excellent, but ok. Noise wise, it's a bit quiter than the stock dunlop.

Never tried any dunlop tyre so i can't comment on them. Im rather surprised that some are claiming that g3s are noisy. There were other posts that were consistently saying how quiet they were and by looking at the tread and knowing their compound, i'd say they are pretty quiet performers compared to say, so3s.
F1's are known to aquaplane and their compound is not as suited for the wet as the g3. I found it only to be a small difference however, but in the dry they get the two thumbs up. Like i said earlier, the only reason i would not buy them again is because there's now a greater variety of good performers out there that would do less damage to my wallet.
Seems everywhere i go now people are raving on about falken azenzis and toyo proxes for the obvious reasons. My question is which is better between the two?

Apparently they are ultra smooth and good on mialeg too. they also come in 15" although not in 50 rather they come in 205/55R15 87V.

Apparently they're quiet and smooth and are the offsrping of the a500 but developed as a performance tyre. These come in 15" but not the common 205/50/15.

Anyone tried those marangoni zeta linea? They look like they have very square shoulder blocks... like the Yokohama A509.

ive just been quoted for yoko c-drives $115 each size 195/65/R14

just one quick question..not sure this has been covered or not..


i realise different tyres wth different brand has sidewall(??) tat look different..some are flat and some are curvy. (ie the red arrow pointed part is not flat but curve out) i know most if not all higher profile tyres will hav the curve. low profile like the 40s and 35s won hav.. but for 50..i see some flat and some curve.

hey mate,
i have a set of marangoni zeta lineas on, the side wall is very soft, so personally i don;t like it. grip in wet and dry is pretty good.

hey guys, i think i've narrowed down my list to 4 tyres, what do ya's think of :-

Toyo Proxes 4

Yokohama A539 (i wanna get c drives but dont come in 205/40/17 :( )

Goodyear Revspec RS02

Bridgestone Potenza G3 (? dunno if they come in 205/40/17)

Does ne1 kno from experience wether 1 particular tyre out of this list is notably better than the other?
