where super sunday at dude might come for a look if youve gotten the scratchX on that quater panel
Nothing helpful to add.
I just love the colour. Good luck with the engine work.
To keep it on budget & only $795 left to spend,
You may want to delete the stainless valves & the intake gasket.
Asyou say, it's not a race car & you want to keep it on budget.
Machining costs you need to make allowance for are as follows:
Modify std connecting rod - bush for floating gudgeon pin
Linish crankshaft if required
Bore & hone + deck block
Full cylinder head overhaul
This will eat up most of your $795
Then you still need gaskets & bearings.
Just my 2c worth.
Cheers
Adrian

ps i do appreciate all the advise ect, and i realise that aint EVERYTHING i will need, but honestly everything is under control, just enjoy the build for what it is.
well for a mechanical engineer and for having a brother who owns a performance workshop, this is not that impressive to enjoy the build for what it is..
i said he owns his company was custom work not a "performance" workshop. we are both new to 4 cylinder turbos and street cars. he mainly does 4 wheel drives. so this is all new to us but he is like a genius when it comes to cars. he does everything single handly in our shed. i dont understand ur last comment cuase it makes no focking sense. basictly saying if a mechanic works on his own car it means fock all what he does.
good to see it gettin a work over and i really do think its a good idea to have gone with the larger exhaust
have u considered valve springs? might as well while u have the valves out. will be good for those few times u do turn up the boost and rev the sh!t out of it!
g/l with the build man, look forward to updates & cant wait to c it at the next dyno day :)
sounds good....as said before love the colour.....wiretuck and ure set
