Interesting, Fredoops. Here's a pic under the bonnet. Certainly looks like the pic from the Wards Top 10 article. But then looks can be deceiving. Is the difference at the back side (Injection), rather than the exhaust side, visible in pic.?
On a recent trip to the Gold Coast we were getting mid 6~7 l/100Kms though.

Interesting. I'll follow up on this. Was aware of the separate US manufacture, but had (wrongly, it seems) assumed that this would be the same engine but made in (most likely) Thailand.'Not so, it seems.
dont have to follow up

our engines have 10HP and 20NM LESS than the US model because we dont have direct injection,
and we dont have CVT.
We have the cost-cut version, K24W4, USA have K24W2 with the goodies.
we didnt get the WARD's top 10 engine, we got it's crippled brother.
CVT /shudder
Thanks for the info/leads...
Drives very nicely. Can't imagine how a DI would be; noticeably better, I assume. But yeah, opinion is divided over CVT.
Actually, the ideal would be VW Group's 7-speed DSG, which I experienced on a Skoda Octavia rental car. Well, one that didn't break, which would probably be the case if Honda built it.
Didn't VW have alot of well known publiized DSG problems?
And it's a bit poor on hondas part to still not bring in DI (fully released worldwide)
When it was used in the NSX over 20 years ago as well as coil packs
