Fold-in mirrors are GO!
I can confirm that the diagrams above are correct and work.
I made one alteration and that is I didn't run the EARTH wire all the way over to the dash switch - I EARTHed the black wire via a ring terminal just below the mirror relay in the passenger kick panel.
In fact I out clevered myself and thought I would use one of the accessory terminals on the under dash fuse box for PWR to limit splicing to one wire. I used my multimeter to locate a pin that came on when the key was turned to IGN1 and ran the PWR wire to it via a crimped terminal. It didn't work. I didn't try connecting to a PWR ON terminal (that is one that has constant power).
So two wires were spliced at the dash switch - PWR 12V (BLU/WHT) and the fold-in wire (BLU/YLW).
Job done.
Some photos and a short video hopefully tomorrow.

OK. Here's some photos I took.
Here's the old mirror mechanism. Note the large spring that is used to allow manually folding in of the mirrors. Compare this with the JDM motor in an earlier post.

The old mirrors. I stripped the fold-in motors from these off the JDM DA.

To make the fold-in work, you have to set the switch to the middle where the small dot is (so neither left nor right). Then one press activates the button and then you press the button again and the mirrors fold in or out. Another press and they fold back.
Bit of a mess having to take out the dash but this enabled me to run all the wiring under the cabin underlay, thereby keeping it out of the way and safe
