ur already spending that much money, how much more is it to spend an extra 1K to have it cleaned out/refreshed etc etc
the k20 swap is in excess of 18k to complete in total which is out of the question for a daily driver...
another 1k... geez under 10k is too much, these motors for that coin better damn well be fresh, without the need for a freshining otherwise I may as well turbo a d16 engine or drive a datsun with a snail lol lol lol
atm the engine should be alright from what I have already heard, get the 2.5" fujitsubo exhuast on the std headers, pay another 300 for an oem like clutch if the std one has barely any meat left, and sus out my wrecker for a vtir radiator. There is no way Im ripping apart a B16B to change gaskets, it should for the bling I'm forking out of my pocket have at least 100,000km+ worth of life and I have never heard of them failing so I'm leaving that to fate and the above average engineering in Honda, after all theyre no Datsun lol
But would it be alot easier since the engine is out of the bay? i guess change all the stuff like water pump, timing belts.
why do you want a b16b instead of a b16a??
The price hike for an extra 10 horsepower (at the fly) isn't worth it IMO.
either get the b16a and save some coin, or spend the extra and get the b18c7.
I cant find one with all the gear atm, in a half cut form otherwise I would Jase... If anyone has info I'd like to know :)
Im pretty much getting it as the shop has everything I need to install, but if a diy came up to me with the time to do it I would easily reconsider, just cant find all the parts atm, nor have time and I need to do something within the next 3wks
save your money and wait man. something will pop up sooner or later.
even if you have to buy everything seperately, it'll work out cheaper then going JDM yO!.
you could get a b16a and some bolt ons similar to mine
Maybe come for a ride in my car with b16a and bolt ons
Then go for a drive with Yin who has a lighter car with b16b ands intake only you will be surprised
I've driven both and can't really tell the difference
either way he is going jdm yo
jdm is the only way to go because aussie parts are shit and water downed
with your type of money ryan go the b18cr
8800 is plenty to do a conversion in your car
those other things mention u can get later
clutch can be put in when doing the conversion
exhaust is easy to do later
u will have change to get a aftermarket radiator
b18cr packages go for like around the 6 k mark
so u will have 2800 to spent on labour and parts
Pm Barefootbonzai. He can sort you out.
B16a running gear cost about 2.5-3k. Spend the rest on some mods and you'll beat a stock b16b setup.
