i am by far an ecu expert but as i have been hunting for an ecu myself coz i'm doin an engine swap and microtech has been recomended by many as great value for money, including tuners themselves
never new microtech pluged&played. thats some good value then! i spose it comes with a 3bar also?

oh and in my case microtech was better (bang for buck) coz i need stand alone unless i wanna fork out extra 495 bux for vtir ecu for the hondata to plug into so yeah i guess depends on your aplication. i'm keeping mine NA for now and i've been told microtech will definitely do the job =/
So we all agree that Microtech is the way to go budget wise. I'd like to note that it took me a year and 4 workshops to find someone that could actually make the car run like a normal car and work well under boost. I have seen a couple Hondas turboed one using the Autronic (Andy) and the other using the Microtech (Neil). Both of these cars have a very bad cold start and idle. Mine used to have a bad idle problem also, but Dean from Technik Tuning ( who supplies Unichip) has mastered it and my car idles at cold and normal operating temp like a dream.
You need more than a good ecu to get a good result. A good tuner should be able make your setup work at it's best. Just my 5 cents.
My Autronic cold start and idle is better than factory. Its all in the tuners ability with the chosen engine management system.
I didn't know you could get a better cold start and idle than a stock OEM ECU on a stock car?

Did you utilise the Autronic "Autotune" feature when tuning the car?
Do you have any comments on the way this tunes the car?
Are you using the SMC, SM2 or one of the plug in boards they have for Honda?

microtech isnt plug and play, but for their money i dont see any other ecu compete in their price bracket that can handle boost etc without worrying about conversions and other such things etc.
Im a fan of the autronic. me and neil wish to boot dave in da ball sacks.....boot iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

i run a microtech LT8. hard to start in the morning, but is good bang for bucks. if i had the extra dosh (soon) i will definately be changing to autronic like shecomb has. these things are too good and well worth the money!
