will let honda do it, i not too comfy doing CV's anyway...bloody messy......hope they dont charge through the ass tho..!!
Honda just called. they said the CV /Driveshafts are rooted. Need to be replaced....Scary bit is $1700 to replace them..!! And the warranty is null and void because I didnt service the car with them every 6months/10000km's...!!! I didnt service it that often cause I dont drive ti that often..!!!
So, anyone know where I can get my handa on a new set of drive shafts..? For less than $1700..????
dont replace them swap them left to right man and save yourself money !!
I will check on this over the weekend, are the left and right identical..??
Bugger! I hope this is not what’s wrong with mine! I think I will stay with the wheel alignment 1st and see how I go. Swap them around seems interesting but is that only a temporary fix? This is starting to worry me greatly! If anyone can remember not long after the purchase of my s2k I had to replace the engine!
Maybe you should consider wreckers one with low Km’s or parts importer.
Happy BDay to me! lol
It would be cheaper to have the CV/Driveshafts (dont know the exact name of them) serviced by a Driveshaft specialist. It couldnt be that expensive to change the CV joints and re pack them in grease....!!
what happens is your cvs wear out un evenly because of your camber . and all you have to do is swap it left to right vise versa they do sit properly and the noise will go away and after swapping it they will wear out evenly again
guys dont be worried its not a big thing just get them swapped!
Possible to do in the home garage..? Or is it easier to be done at a shop..?
just spoke to my mechanic (not honda dealer), he could get the driveshafts serviced and replaced easily, but not too keen on swapping them from left to right.....
How confident are you that this works..? Is it a known fix..?
Its a cheap fix most owners do when the time comes.
Highly recommend you do it on a hoist!!
