have a look underneath the crx u might actually see the drive shaft popped out and slumped.

I know of this as its happened to me.

sounds like a blown drive shaft, or a clutch failure or even the diff but the only way 2 find out is to pull it appart

its because the DIFF is moving around , but the drivetrain is not transferring power to the wheels. The VSS is reading off the diff.

As said before by myself and others , check the driveshafts if they are in properly or blown cv etc

If the clutch was failing, the dif wouldn't be moving.

My quote was in reply to the guy before me, not the OP.

Just to add - a failing clutch still would engage (to a degree) thru to the diff and beyond. A failed clutch probably wouldnt get power past the flywheel :)

If it was only failing and not failed, then the car would move.
