i m using Motul Gear FF LSD II 75W - 140W (some jap words on label), around $50 -60 for 1L, but u need at least 2L for ur gear box.

Thanks for the heads up. Certainly alot to consider.
The castrol VMX80 - given that its similarly rated oil and cheaper seems to be food for thought.

For Cusco difs use the recommended. I have tried plenty of g/b oils for my cusco dif, and the only ones that work are Cusco oil, and Motul FF LSD Type II g/b oil. Indy@ISMR stocks it. Neo Racing oil, whilst good on the stock dif is really very very bad for the Clutch type dif.

Are there any drawbacks with running a significantly higher (upper limit) viscosity of oil in the transmission ?

Thanks for the feedback.

Any problems with synchros or diff noise with this ? The reason i ask is that with a previous car - i was informed that syntrax glazes the synchros.

OEM LSDs as well? Which Syntax is suitable for oem LSD?

Elf also does a 75w80 gear oil which is the same viscosity as Honda MTF.

Drove a fren's Ek with S4C box+wavetrac LSD ( ie torsen type no need friction modifier for lsd plates ) with new Amsoil synchromesh trans fluid.

Very slick gear changes, reminds me a lot of Redline MTF feel which is also a thin oil.

He bought from local amsoil agent in Perth, about $22 per quart which is really good value for something true syn and stable up to 300F.
