Australian Autocross. Not the woosie American "between the cones on bitumen in a carpark" type of autocross. LOL. Our events are on a range of loose surface CAMS approved permanent tracks . Some are ultra smooth and will get your tyres squealing as the rubber is laid down during the event .( If you have rubber that is too hard:thumbdwn:) while other tracks are rutted to such an extent that you have to be careful as you float the car into a corner that it does not trip over:o Broken driveshafts are also not uncommon on the more corrugated tracks:(
Yes the engine bay is dirty and so is the interior . I only did round two last weekend and then parked the car in my carport after hosing the mud off from the underside before it set LOL.The last event was plagued by floods (well heavy rain in the morning) and so much dust in the afternoon that they had the dreaded water truck out ! If you look closely at the photos you will see that the car has water beads on it because I washed it just before I got the camera out . The engine bay does not get cleaned (ever ! ) with water as I have learned the hard way that aftermarket ECU wiring and excessive water are not a good combination . All I do is wipe the motor with a rag and blow excess dust off with compressed air

looking good :)
very cool man, nice work!! Results are awesome
Yeah thanks .:o:o It isn't Bathurst you know but hey I can handle the odd complement:p I really do not think I am driving the car that well yet and I feel it should be a top 10 finisher at some tracks.I can honestly say I have not had one lap yet that would be even close to "perfect". It does give you a huge advantage when you have a better power to weight ratio than most others .What it means is that your 0 to 100 kmh time can be 1 or 2 seconds faster than your opposition and if you can gain that much in the sprint to the first corner it is pretty hard for the opposition to get it back in a 65 second lap. What I do know is that I am not going to win my class every round as I will make the odd mistake or some local home track hot shot will blow me to the weeds LOL. But hey I am 59 years of age ,still reasonably competitive at the level I run at and still having the time of my life win or lose.:)

Firstly let me say that I don't intend to bore everyone with a blow by blow report of each event I do in the EG6. However since I was pretty happy to mention my class wins in the first two rounds of the series I compete in I guess that in the interests of balance I should report on the Victorian Club Autocross round I completed yesterday at Bendigo. I had a s**t of a day.The track was very slippery and rough and I had trouble working out which end of the car was going to break loose at any moment. Throw in the fact that the thing jumped out of second gear once on each of the second and third runs and three times on the final run and you can see why I was relieved to put it on the trailer at the end of the day. I did manage to fluke 3rd in class and I think this means I am still leading by one humble point after 3 rounds. I was about 26 O/R in the 85 car field which is well below what the car is capable of. (not sure about the driver's capabilities at the moment LOL ) I had the gearbox out at the start of the year and it looks as if it will be coming out again. More expense.....

The track is out through Huntly, then past the Field and Game club at Bagshot.

It's all good
I get a kick out of seeing Civic's built for circuit racing
Yours is obviously seeing some great action judging by the cage and rally mud flaps
This was my ghetto spec Civic http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106765
:)
I had to Google "Compton "and "ghetto" to see what you meant. LOL I have been to LA and there were areas I would not drive into as I figured you would probably lose more than your hub caps before you got to the other side! I looked up your car details before I posted my first reply. Looks like it was a well prepared setup.
