It's a stupid question because even the turbo drag Civics still use belts. Why mess with something that works? Just because Nissan does it, doesn't make it right for Honda.
Referring to people as e-mechanics is going to get people's backs up by the way - after 19 years of working on my own cars and building/modding several, I like to think I have a little more than theory behind me.

ahh if u guys want to know on why i ask this question in the first place... it is not becos i have a stock b series engine... if it was...then i'd agree i'd be a stupid mod...but its running very high rpm over 10k for daily driving.... the chain conversion just came into mind becos i thought...maybe someone has done it b4...and was just curious about it...seein other type of engine being built with it... surely there must be a reason behind it...good or bad... i just want to know as and advice..
...if u had ur engine running over 10... do u really want the belt to be snapping, cos after alot of money spent on the engine... i dun think you would want the belt to snap destroyin all the internal mods with it...and thats why i was asking if anyone has info... just info -_-
Ok - I fibbed - saw Kevin's post and figured it might be worthwhile looking in.
Kevin - in a sea of insanity you are a voice of reason - I take back the comment about it being a stupid post. The answer is that the belts are quite reliable in a B16A. At 10K, I'd be worried - but Toda etc have built motors to do these figures - maybe contact them and see what they use. Ideally, the turbo drag Civics use belts still at high revs/HP - but if you want to be sure - maybe contact a place like Croydon Autosport to see what their H22A powered EG used. Thinking about it, ITRs and CTRs go for similar high revs (but not as high) and use belts. Personally - I'd suggest just swapping the belt half-way through it's life span - say 30K-40K kms for peace of mind - but I do mine early anyway at 50K km intervals.
The bottom line (now that it's clear what the criteria is) is that not many people here would run those revs and as such you need to consult experts who have experience with it. Prolly be better to clarify the criteria in future posts :)
