The statement should be: "There is no such thing as a JDM B16A1" :)
I'll PM CivicJim on the 4th gen forums and see if he still has the photo of his EE9's block number ::)
thanks setanta - that is the only correct response to my comment that "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A B16A1"
not that it has got anything to do with the topic...
sorry to original poster ;)
BEDE aka Vtechnique on these forums said exactly thesame thing to me:Quote:

would this be about right?
When referring to JDM, B16A = first gen... I NEVER refer to my engine as a B16A1, its not on the block. If I called it a B16A1, the assumption then is it's a euro.Quote:

The yanks invernted the notion of there being a JDM B16A1... it's a convention, not a reality. Who gives a f*ck what the yanks think anyway :D
JDM B16A Gen two = B16A2 as well - same designation as the Aussie counterpart but with 170ps rather than 160bhp.Quote:

Cheers
Sorry - I was just pasting part of the email - sorry
But knowing were in oZ and there are no Euro B16A1s its just easier to differentiate between the generation like I said earlier.Quote:

my 3 first gen B16A's all had dual valve springs...
maybe you are thinking of the automatic versions of the B16A SPEEDCORE?
Appologies, yes the Auto 1st gen had single inlet and exhaust springs.
There is also debate whether *SOME* of the 1st Gen Manuals had dual on the intake side and single on the exhaust, which where seen in the B16 Integras of that time too.
As far as confirming this dual intake side and single exhaust side I can not speak from experience as I have not seen it in person.
Thanks for clearing that up Tinks!
yes, well i have already been wrong once in this thread, just trying to get some credibility back ;)Quote:
