SHU-ES1 I can vouch for ****n people like you running over-the-top HID's on a non standard car being ****ing annoying, its like worse than high beams in both on-coming traffic and if your behind another car, its just plain discourteous and annoying so you can think your 'awesome' with your super bright lights, if it was up to me and I was a cop I'd get my batton and smash your lights out and say go fix them with standard lights
You want HID's?.. get them the proper way and stop having a whinge you got defected for potentially blinding innocent motorists
Sorry to be harsh, just sick of some people complaining bout defects when they probably got off EASY with what they got, as others said 8k is overkill and your complaining bout running 12k and getting defected, if I ever see your car I'd highbeam and follow you for 2 hrs just so you know how annoying it is

in saying that, I got 6000k and I think its already blinding on coming traffic.
Problem is that you have reflector headlights. Hids on non standard issue reflectors disperses the light in all sorts of directions potentially blinding oncoming traffic.
The vision is some cases is worse than with stock halogen.
You'll find that people running non standard hids in projectors will still get the cut off.
Plus anything over 6000k is gonna attract the men in blue.

oh ok, i always thought the ep3 and the eu3 had the same headlights - the shape and location of all the globes are identical! so if i went and got ep3 headlights, it would be legal for me to use hids. i think they come stock with 8000k bixenons. thanks for the info spaz!

If you look at the sidewall of the tyre you'll see the size designation (e.g. 195/60/15) followed by a number (e.g. 88) and then the speed rating (e.g. H or V etc). On the tyre sticker (typically affixed in the right rear door aperture, or the right door aperture if a coupe) you'll see the tyre size / load rating / speed rating stipulated for that car by the manufacturer. If the load rating number on the tyre sidewall is a lower number than that on the sticker then it's illegal to fit that tyre on that car.
As an example my nephew's Civic has a sticker load rating of 82, and my Accord has a sticker load rating of 87. If I were to fit 82 rated tyres to my Accord it would be an illegal fitment. It would be OK to fit a tyre with a higher load rating than the sticker rating, but not less.
It's also illegal to fit tyres with a slower speed rating than that on the sticker, e.g. you can't legally fit tyres with an H rating if the sticker says a V rating, but you can fit a V rated tyre if the sticker says H.
