You can possibly get sand paper and sand it carefully making sure you don't sand the red bit and then polishing it with some metal polish.
Good trick is to get a pen/pencil/stick and wrap sand paper around that for working around small areas :)

Make sure you use a fine grit, it will take a little longer, but it won't leave lines on it like a lower grit rough paper would.

I thought my cover was faded, will give it a light wash, if I can get a spare cover cheap enough, will get it powdercoated in yellow like the Spoon ones, then the Carbon Fiber cover will look even better!

haha thanks 2 u i got the hids u made it look so easy to do and it was after some help from Aytac :) those ballasts are a pain to find space 4 them in a eg5 thought
Install my hid's yesterday. Anyone get a weird audible buzz noise coming from the ballasts when you turn on your headlights for the 1st 10 sec?
the whistle is from the filter not a leak. it happens with any pod filter
