Chances are your 20 yr old shocks arnt in a very good condition anyhoo. I'd just recommend the springs too.
The kits u mentioned above do work.. just yeh.. u dont know the spring rate and quality of the spring.

you'd still have to run those on aftermarket shocks, im pretty sure
running em on your stock shocks still affects the actual distance the spring travel along the shocks and hence can cause it to blow quicker. or someshit like that
