dont think the law had anythin to do with exposed pods, more pods in general as they change the fuel mixture and air, causing more pollutants in the air and the EPA gets upsetQuote:

As mentioned above, its illegal for many things. Noise pollution and the fact that most pods are oil based, hence risk of getting it on fire. Get an airbox and it should be fine :)
In answer to OP, Yes CAI are illegal for P Platers as they are a performance modification. Which in the new current laws, Vic roads bans any performance modified vehicle from P Platers. That is without even getting into EPA crap.
