Prefer OEM.. Bought anyway.
OEM filters have a higher sprung bypass valve.. due to s2ks higher pressure oil pump. Using a shitty repco filter with their one size fits all mentality. Your filter could be doing sweet **** all and by passing the entire time.. also the construction of the filter matters as well.. some s2ks have literaly spun off their filters causing a fire... Hence company's like Js racing produce "Oil filter stoppers." Food for thought.
Buy OEM or HAMP. Make life easier and better by knowing that it works and it's good. Also, if you track it, use a J's oil filter stopper. 9k RPM can cause it to loosen and start a fire.
What yank said. Just buy OEM... not sure on Hamp's bypass settings etc so I can't recommend.
And no point getting a oil filter stopper unless you're doing track work or thrash your car constantly... I had my filter loosen and leak oil on my first track day... luckily it wasn't much. I naively bought the J's piece at a pretty rip off JDM penny :p It's literally a bracket with a large hose clamp attached... that's it. I'm sure you could make something similar from Bunnings and then just scribble "J's WaCiNg SPIriT OF JDmz" on it.
Alternatively, some of the K&N filters actually have a hole in the tip so you can secure some wire from the oil filter to a point on your engine to stop it from loosening up.
I have an account with Rocket so can put together a GB through S2ki if anyone is interested.

Some reading if anybody is keen.
K&N uses good materials, metal ends (not cardboard...) and has the nut to boot so I'm sold.
There's a seller on eBay going for about $14AUD each with free postage? So if you can beat that...
Its been years since i was in the f20c game, technologies may have changed and im not preaching everyone should go buy wanky Js filter stopper haha.. I had one given to me when did my f20c ae86swap.. a simple metal bracket and hose clamp would suffice.. Just beware going cheap on s2k filters. just like from aozora's post
If it's a breeze to remove the oil filter without having to punture the filter then that ticks my boxes.
This vendor on s2ki offer the stopper for $36. http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/9195...st-36-shipped/
Can be easily made, but i'd rather buy as I'm lazy.
