Out of curiosity did you remove the old adhesive goo? Our just adding on top?
Sensai is talking about wrapping tape around the rods where they meet either each other or any other panel or part. This will remove most or all the rattles you may have when opening and closing the door or listening to music (within the door only. Won't magically cure rattles in other places lol)
-
what rods are you refering to?
to get the goo off, if you get a heat gun, maybe a hair dryer, you can actually pry it off, careful not to get to your paint.
for the particularly thick parts, get a flat head and dig it in horizontally and aim for the middle oft he glue - do not touch the metal door, and just progressively push horizontally and the glue will attempt to clump together,

androo nailed it right. also by putting some tape on the door lock connector rods, the noise the door makes when it locks is softened too.
-
are you refering to the metal lines that connect the locking mechanism?
-
yup thats it. when i had my door cards off, i was too lazy to do a proper soundproof, so i dont know how much improvement there was, but apparently if you are serious, you can soundproof the doors, tape up the rods, and connectors, you can make the door very silent when open/close and no rattles when speakers are being blasted

i wont be sound proofing as im going for some weight reduction but simple things like the sheet for moisture imo is a must.
thanks for the suggestion though!
