I have a spare identical raybestos fiter.
So I cracked it open, damage the casing in the process, destroyed a perfectly good filter....
Yes it made in China, no the top does not leak, in fact it's so frigging tightly screwe together I ended up cutting and hammer/chisel into the top to get it friggin open.
The paper filter quality is excellent, by pass valve spring works as expected, no excess glue found on the filter.
Nothing wrong with my those Chinese Raybestos I got.
Now I had to friggin buy a replacemet for my next service.... Or I could reuse the current one, open the top, replace the inside, and superglue it shut.
You're welcome to have my Raybestos filter as I'd rather not risk it. Just PM me if you're keen.

I have to say I was impressed by the guys at Boss Components. I suppose I'd never really thought about the design that goes into a simple filter but they're properly CAD designed with flow models and magnet calculations here, there and everywhere. For eg think how a clogged magnet may disrupt the flow of oil or how an over-powered magnet may attract material to the leading edge only. These design elements may or may not create a problem after 10,000 - 20,000 kms which is why OEMs don't accept a component until it's done literally millions of kms of proven testing. I can see how just copying a design wont necessarily produce an effective result and that's before you look at manufacturing tolerances.
Apparently these filters are also good for steering systems. Has anyone tried on a Honda?
