my mate - 5 yrs at toyota (airport west), capable of rebuilding engines as well ..... asked for a pay rise and answer was "NO"
now hes at TOLL in tech department
luckily all hes assessments were signed off and he got hes paper
look into your school bud, and they should be able to get an assessor down to where your working to sign off all your assessments via "Recognition of prior learning"
Ie. if you doing engine rebuild - the schools assessor can come down to have a look at you at work ..... and he should be able to sign off on that assessment getting you closer to finishing your course

im currently at Ashton college doing a cert 3 in automotive technician, i remember asking a similar question to my teacher
he said to me if i can change a timing belt or whatever the job is thats a part of my school modules .... he'll come over to where im working and watch me .... and he'll sign off that module for my assessment
