My dad has an Accord with the same F22A engine. It's torquey down low in the RPM range, no point revving up above 4500rpm. This makes it very good for everyday driving. Revving it above 4500rpm, gives constant acceleration instead of increasing acceleration, so it feels a bit flat, although it is picking up speed. This makes it very confortable for the passengers when you decide to gun it.
Fuel consumption-wise, if the engine has above 100k on it, then it drinks a fair bit. With the auto, my dad gets about 12-13 L/100km for a mix of 40% city and 60% 80km/h limited freeway driving. Maybe it needs a tuneup.
From what i can remember, the F22 has better consumption than the h23, but the h22a has better consumption than the f22

Sounds like it needs a tune up. An average well looked after vtec 2.2 will run around 10-11L per 100km city drivingQuote:
