OBDI certainly goes into Limp Mode,
If you can rev past 4K RPM with the MIL on then you not if Limp Mode, the ECU is just reporting a fault and the main processor in the ECU is active. In limp mode a secondary processor runs a basic map that allows the engine to run with limited sensor input.
I get high in limp mode :P
