What about getting the auto tricked up? A higher stall point will give you faster take offs, and you can get a shift kit so that gear changes are instant (you'll get chirpies when you push it hard). Just be careful though i'm not sure if the guys at the transmission place will laugh when you ask about this - they usually do this sort of stuff to V8s and drag cars...
As for exhaust, if money is not an object why not get a *quiet* exhaust that flows well? Exhaust doesnt need to be loud to flow well, and it would surprise more people if you were able to beat them without making much noise!
grab a zex 95300 cam if u want a little power upgrade.
how much this zex 95300 cam cost me mate?
cost me like $350aud shipped.. i got it off ebay
Umm y is every1 saying auto's suck???? just wondering how many auto drag cars there are rofl. Stally and shift kit and u will outchange any manuel
For auto car turning.....get a Buddy Club B-spec computer...can make your gearbox smarter in gear change.....but need to get Dyno and turn it up.....:D
Thats it im converting my manual to auto :P
autos are only good for engines which actually produce a decent amount of torque - something NA 4 cylinders arent known for. beside we're not talking about a drag car here. its a close to stock honda civic.Quote:

Actually autos also dont do well on fuel economy either - the extra drag on the engine costs petrol! Only on the highway, if you have an auto with an overdrive lock or whatever...
egvtec, just look at the quoted times for auto and manual models of the same type of car.... But for one thing, a bad driver in an auto car *will* beat a bad driver in a manual. Its just easier and lazier (I just sold my manual car for 2 auto cars :D)
what would be the power lose between a mani and an auto?... would it be really signifcant?
Automatic gearbox.....the shifting point is set by the factory.....like my one is not allowed to go more than 6800rpm......but manual gearbox u be free to shift the gear....like 7200 rpm.....this is big different esp for revvy Honda VTEC engines:D ....also another point is auto is usually 4 speed while manual is 5 speed.....the more gear u get the faster u get up to speed....
I wish i have a Buddy Club spec B computer.....then my car and rev up until 7200rpm....:D
