yeah, a CAI will be noticably better than stock. and i wouldnt worry about hydro lock. you have to drive through some seriosly deep puddles for that. last week i drove through some which would have been 1/2 foot deep during a massive downpour. was shitting myself about it but no probs. just slow down a little to

hydrolock should only be an issue if the water line is above 1ft, unless you're lowered. you can allways get the valve that AEM makes, designed to allow airflow if the filter is blocked/soaked by water.
My advice would be to use commonsence, dont go driving during flood conditions

i can feel theres a difference in terms of performance. revs alot more free'r
i've jus upgraded the pod to a k&n (autobarn sale $69) and a monza chrome heat shield
works perfectly , imluvn it.

i dont think extending the filter all the way to your wheel is going to be any good.
remember honda spent along time engineering this shit.
your just going to stuff up the dynamics.
modifications as extragant as this will often likely lead to peforming poorly more than good.
just stick to your stock box. its bad enough that your going to shorten the life of your engine by throwin in a podfilter.

shorten the life of your engine with a pod filter?? are you kidding?? What the hell would cause that... Air is getting filtered so what is this drastic thing that will kill all of us pod filter owners engines

After removing the resontator, your piping should easily fit through the hole and you can then mount the filter.

To avoid hydrolock, especially when the road floods during a big downpour, buy an AEM bypass valve, you can pick these up on ebay motors quite cheap. Mine costed be $45AU delivered from the USA, just make sure you get the right size bypass valve for your piping.

any mods to your car from stock will most probably lessen the life of your engine.
who are u kidding, u think ur pod filter filters everything ?
you think putting on an exhaust doesnt stress out ur engine abit more ?
more power equals more stress on engine.
more stress equals not good.

its the same as putting on a turbo on stock internals, even though it might handle it, what is its life span compared to when it didnt have the turbo. :thumbdwn:

on a NA engine having good flow - both intake and exhaust may give a bit more power. but will not stress the engine more. if it rev's more freely, how can there be more stress on the enigne?
