It really depends on the power output of your amp
But if youve got a decent amp (4channels and some decent RMS rating) then Id be hooking up both the splits (cos splits hooked up to the amp make a HUGE difference in my opinion) and hooking up the sub to the amp.
Just hook up the rears to the HU because chances are, once you've got the sub up back and splits in the front, u wont be hearing much from your rear speakers anyways (not if your driving anyways :) )
Cool, can anyone recommend a place in Sydney or somewhere wheres cheap and posts to sydney, where I can get a decent 12" sub and amp?
jaycar response amp had good ravings. Don't know how the new line of response amps are but Im getting one myself. $300 for a 100w X 4ch amp is quite cheap.
