Yer more displacent is good, also been thinkin about the price difference between a normal b16a and the b16b.
but like i said before everything from the ek9 is a straight swap bolt out bolt in,
spoke to an importer in perth today, hopefully he wont fall thru.
B18CR will be bolt in. only thing extra you'll need is EK4 engine mounts
anrt the axel's n stuff different, will the radiator aircon and all that crap bolt in too?
There is a reason that Spoon makes a stroker kit for the b16b.
Now just for your info, yes B16b has more aggressive CAMs but it will still make less power due to smaller displacement. You should go B18c.
Both have the same block (as the b16 has a destroked b18 block) wiring is identical. Seems to be the case with all B series.
I would say that they would require the same amount of work.
The only difference is it might be cheaper get a 1.6 engineered and insured.
why don't buy a b16a halfcut than mod it.
like change aftermarket cam and ECU.
hmm i guess if u got the funds then why not?
it would be a nice conversion
then again, u gotta follow with all the other necessary upgrades that comes with it
i have an ek4, and would LOVE to have a b18c7 in it.
thort about that, black ek, but if i wanted a b16a civic i'd have just bought an ek4.
like i said was after a b18c r, but was advised it was easier to use an ek9 half cut
otherwise, turbo is another cost effective option!
But considering the fact of swapping a b18c to an EK, it would make the car more difficult to handle because of the extra torque. I was pondering on the same thing too. Whether to get a B16B or B18CR. I have spoken to couple of ppl and they say the B18CR requires abit more work. Also swapping the B18CR, you will have to mod the suspension also the rims. THat will cost abit.
