They're hard to find new (most 8s were sold before they arrived). Awesome car. VERY expensive insurance. Some 7s are available as grey imports (= even more expensive insurance). EVO7 is a dud (loosely applied term -- engine management problems compared to others).
EVO 3, 5, 6 (absolute weapon) or 8 are the ones to have. EVO 9 part of regular line-up soon.
(My brother-in-law crews for Ed Ordinsky and services most of the EVOs in Adelaide.)
ah yea, i'm a huge fan of s15's. I was really close to buying one aswell but the insurance was a couple grand more per year than the euro so i couldn't really justify it.Quote:
my first choice was another S15
I saw one just last night actually, parked at JB HIFI black with some nice 18" alloys, tein coilovers (judging by the decal) and a few other really tasteful mods.
So you've owned an s15 before, what made you get rid of it?
I recon they are becoming a real bang for your buck on the second hand market i'd get another one over an evo and spend the difference on some high quality mods
What made my get rid of it...
Too hot into a corner (end of forth before braking), saved the first corner only to see its actually a S bend. End of story. LOL
2 years ago and I still can't get over it, but I very much doubt if I will do stupid things like that again, just want the car again coz its so much fun.
Chris, E36 M3 is not a V6, it's a straight inline 6.Quote:

gotta say i have owned a few turbo cars and while they were great power makers the euro is a more enjoyable ride........drove an evo8 leather pack and even though the power was incredible it just wasnt very smooth or refined...basically nvh is like your garden variety lancer not very impressive compared to my euro...boy was it quick though....
I'm another previous turbo car owner (s15 200sx) for 2+ years. I'd take the euro over the s15 again and again and again if I had to choose between the 2.
S15 only seems to make sense on a track.. not for daily driving.

Best to research what other similar ones are going for in the trading post or other online classifieds :)
I totally disagree with that, I like the turbo rush, and letting the rear loose :DQuote:

In Melb... if you 'think' about going fast while sitting in a S15.. you'd get a ticket. :(
yes the coming from na the turbo rush is fantastic.....but eventually you get sick of it.Quote:
